It seems that Everton have missed out on this for some reason, NBC are going to have a special tv programme devoted to "cut-down games from marquee teams such as the two Manchester sides, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham, in distinct Monday and Tuesday night programmes." It wouldn't be so bad but Everton have had more American players than all of those teams; McBridge, Donovan, Howard, Max-Moore, Hanneman, Preki and Quinn (who never played a game). They just won a major lawsuit, and for like $10usd you can watch the major american broadcast channels(ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, PBS) online via computer or mobile in full HD. The company that started it receives the broadcast signal overt the air and redistributes it online. The big broadcasters are making a huge fuss about it because of lost revenue. Many things here are not so great, and while I certainly love my country, I long to spend a few years abroad. For me its the whole language problem, work permit(although my girlfriends parents were both born in Poland so if we got married I could probably get an EU permit), and what would I do for a living. And I can easily understand that the preferences of American fans of Everton and the EPL is not your concern. Still, this is great news for American fans of all EPL clubs. For me and other Everton followers in U.S., for example, it means we'll get to see pretty much every Everton EPL match. And with British commentators, rather than the awful group of Americans one usually gets with Fox and ESPN. I don't doubt that Everton fans like some commentators, detest others, but as a group they're way superior to pathetic American football ignoramuses. The thinking being, right from when games started to be shown live many years ago, that if there was live stuff on TV it would affect crowds right through the leagues. Over here in the US the feeds are coming directly from the Premier League with default english commentators in position for the standard games which air on the separate channels to maintain the coverage of all games. When it comes to the games that NBC has picked specifically for coverage on NBC Sports etc then they have the english based NBC Sports coverage commentators; Arlo White, Graeme Le Saux, Lee Dixon etc. which then tie back to the NBC Sports studio in CT with Rebecca Lowe, Ekoku and Mustoe. In the case of Lee Dixon and Graeme Le Saux etc they must have secondary contracts to work with other broadcasters. Much like Lineker who fronts the BBC coverage primarily but then does work on the side for NBC Sports and one of the middle east stations. Seeing the financial details hinting at the 1BN that NBC Sports has paid for the next contract. It was inevitable that they paid more with the great job they are doing. Better, quality coverage which improves the brand will only lead to the Premier League charging more and more. They do an amazing job here with their coverage, also helped by the time difference which means their is little sports competition on Saturday/Sunday mornings. I think it all started when the guy in charge of NBC Sports was traveling through NYC and noticed the amount of people wearing club colors that convinced him there was something to pursue which got them their first deal. They just won't show them on a Saturday at match time due to the effect it would have on attendances. But we do have cable over here and can easily find streams of your channels to watch. Each ground has to have a certain criteria to make sure the "product" is of good quality. You must have video sponsorship boards on the three sides of the pitch that is in view of the TV cameras. You have to have so many positions for cameras, I think it's about 15 now. Floodlights have to be of a certain brightness. You have to have so much space for the broadcast trucks. So many studios available. It really is a massive operation, carried out ten times over each week, broadcast to every part of the world. I read that one of executive's sons was getting up early on a Saturday morning to watch it online and it gave the executive to take the idea to buy the rights.
