Not seen a performance like this since the 1980's. Commentator then said of the Everton midfield 'In this mood they are just irresistable. They go hunting in packs and will not be denied' Credit where it's due. We are superb today.

So true. Has to be said that Villa have been horrible though. Got to keep it up against the better teams now.

If Baines can come back in and get get up to his best level quickly, we're going to be fucking devastating.

We were good, but Villa...

That said, great performances all the way around. All right when said that this how we should be playing against bottom-dwellers. Calm and composed in possession, waiting for our moment to break through. And when we do, it can be devastating. Just need to play like that against top-half teams as well.

Admittedly, Villa were awful, but every one of our players performed well today. When our passing works, it's unbeatable. There are still wayward passes from time to time, but it does look like the team's approach is really beginning to click.

McCarthy in the first half was excellent. Struggling a bit this year, he excelled today.

Our defence had little to do, but (other than that one back pass), they made very few errors. It's easy to forget that only Coleman is playing right now from the starters a year ago.

Kone may not have scored, but I thought he also had a good game - creating space and openings that Lukaku and Barkley in particular were able to take advantage of.

Was very pleased with Kevin Mirallas. Came on with a point to prove, and he was hungry to score. Way to go, Kev.

What typified Deulofeu for me was that he made mistakes. Martinez is allowing him to make mistakes, because it means he feels free to play to his strengths. His contribution to the team right now is massive.

All in all, a fun game to watch - albeit much too one-sided.
