marcus jones reacted to Cornish Steve in Summer Transfer Window
Everything so far has been done without eating into the allowance of four loanees, so that's a big step forward. Last minute loans are going to feel like a turbo engine kicking in.

Has he pocketed all the money, got us relegated and bought a few houses with the money from selling Goodison Park? No, he's kept the club at the right end of the Premier League and has us on the verge of a new, positive era.

Obviously happy that we've got him, but 28 million quid? Where the fuck does this cash come from? I am scared.

Saw that earlier the lady who was going through the various clubs transfer dealings said that we have offered £27m!
Which if it isn't accepted he would likely join on loan again
Probably nonsense as per but I hope we don't spend £27m on him if there's any truth in it
I rate the lad but with that kind of money we could strengthen massively in a few areas

marcus jones reacted to Paddock in Press conference called for "significant club announcement" - 4pm
No they don't. They may have a low key run of the mill press conference but they don't big it up like it 's the second coming like we did today it 's a farce.

Shanks was in a hairdresser's once and the barber asked if he wanted anything off the top, to which his reply was ''Aye, Everton''!

marcus jones reacted to Ian C in Rooney World Class Argument
Not even it's as simple as "he doesn't try". I don't think you can watch him play and think that he's not putting enough effort in.
I think world class players need to be surrounded by great players and a great manager, and given the space and responsibility to thrive. Rooney has none of that at United.
I think if he were at a Bayern, Madrid or a Barca we'd feel very differently.
It's funny, Rooney always struck me as someone motivated purely by football (by achievement, not necessarily loyalty), not money. I think his upbringing, or maybe the people around him, have led him to compromise his football for money - and I don't think he's happy with that.

Is he better than Gibson?
I rate Gibson and don't see the point in breaking the bank wage wise for Barry.

Let them pay it.
Its too much for us. Putting all our eggs in one basket and all that.
Doesnt mean I dont rate him etc etc...its just a lot of money for mostly 'potential'.

marcus jones reacted in Steven Naismith
Be interesting to see whether he starts on Sunday to give us more of a threat.
Personally I would start him. He could give Arteta the run round as Mikel isnt the quickest nor does he like chasing players round. So if Naismith keeps moving he may find himself free on a few occasions.

Great player. Had a brilliant first year at Swansea as well so dunno what's happened really. Maybe Monk wants him back for next year though with Laudrup now gone...

marcus jones reacted to Shukes in Steven Naismith
not saying he is world class, just that he deserves credit for his performances. Which to be fair he is getting, it's just it's funny that people are try to play it down still.
And to be fair to me..... i have always had his corner. Never thought he is a world class player. I just think i recognise the job he does. He is a lot better than most people make out. His touch is better than most of our team and he has always had a decent accuracy on his passing and shooting.
While he is prone to the occasional embarrasing moment ... tripping himself up twice and giving away a throwing.... he can also be credited for lovely bits of skill....Real madrid match anyone.
He's a good guy and a good footballer and deserves credit for that.

marcus jones reacted to duncanmckenzieismagic in A Champions League spot is still a real possibility
The article was complete nonsense
It was factually incorrect for a start and then tried to make out that Roberto had ended our problems playing away at the top teams just because we beat United 1-0. It's not like they have been invincible this year is it?
He didn't mention that we lost at Chelsea lost at Spurs and got trounced at Arsenal,City and Analfield
Some criticism of Moyes is perfectly valid but you can't just make shit up and tell half truths to suit your argument, which is basically what that reporter did

marcus jones reacted to GoldfishMemory in Loans - what drivel
Love it, let them cry we take a big risk loaning so much talent it could all blow up in our face in the summer but at least RM had the nuts to build a team with three loan players as integral members.
It's worked and maybe we are seeing the future of football, it's about time the system of the same shite players getting palmed off on struggling clubs for fees nowhere near their worth was blown apart. Maybe just maybe RM has changed the way football clubs with small bank accounts will compete against the billionaire owners of the top clubs?
BTW for the record Newcastle fans are more deluded than Kopites so it just makes me laugh every time one opens their mouth!

marcus jones reacted to Romey 1878 in Longest Thread! for Everton Discussion
I fucking love being an Evertonian you know.
I know there's a lot I moan about but I wouldn't swap being a blue for anything. I genuinely believe we have an amazing a special set of fans for the most part and despite the many off field shit points we're a great club.
Can't put into words just how I want us to achieve something. I feel we, as a club, deserve it and would appreciate it more than most.
I also love you all on here. Even the members I've had tiffs with. You're all blues and that makes you special.
Onwards and upwards, Evertonians.
No, I'm not pissed, just had a burst of Everton love and felt this was the best place for it .
