Darron Gibson

Moyes expects him to be out for a month... it'll probably end up being about 3 months then!

Was just about to post the OS article on this... sucks so bad.

Do we find another holding midfielder in the transfer window? Makes me wonder if we will make a move for Vadis on loan now.

I know some people are of the opinion that we are fine in the center of midfield, but if Gibson's always hurt, Hitzlsperger is injury prone, and Moyes has taken to playing Felli in an attacking position, then we have only Neville to rely on as a physical presence. And, well, his distribution is, well, you know....

Francisco Junior played a lot pre season and was on the bench quite a few times if I remember rightly....quite highly rated. Not been mentioned for a while but might be an option?

True. I like the look of him. But, if memory serves correctly, he wasn't too strong on the ball when we started him in the cup game, and he seemed to lose possession a lot, which led to some chances the other way. He does have a good shot on him though, and that tackle he flew into in preseason was pretty awesome. I don't think he's secure enough to play in the league yet though.

I wouldn't hold the Leeds game against him, he had just come back from injury and weren't fit enough to start in my opinion.

Did he have a lot of injuries at man utd?

I think so. Mostly due to him not playing often for them and not being match fit, therefore picking up niggling injuries. So it looks like he's susceptible to injury when coming back from not playing. We'll have to be very careful with him when he comes back in after this injury.

Let's hope the 'out for a month' includes the fittness work needed to ensure no relapse.surely the medical staff arn't going to send out the likes of Gibson and Mirallas ahead of a sencible return.....one extra game without them must make more sence than a second injury.Guess that's where a bigger sqaud would have come in handy.

but why are we the fans not kept up to date with what the progress or lack thereof is with 2 of our best players? - Gibson and Mirallas -

lack of information leads to speculation and rumours -

maybe we will understand the coaching staff better if they give us more info - or are we expecting too much ?

Maybe they are trying to keep it under wraps to keep the opposition guessing with regards to our line up ?

So he should snub them, Gibbo was playing well for Everton yet didn't get a game at the Euros what is that about. I don't know what the Ireland manager thinks sometimes, he was the same with Coleman where he didn't want him to play...

He couldn't get in over Keith Andrews that tournament. What a joke.

I recall occassions where you seen Leighton Baines under Moyes and wondered what was wrong with him to find that he was carrying a knock or twinge. The same with Mirallas, he brought him back too quick.

Sure we will miss the quality but in all seriousness an extra week here and there is better for the player. It does benefit us knowing that Martinez is a qualified Physio.

Don't like to see this personally. The majority of Irish players I heard yesterday and today have plenty of positive things to say about Trapp. Twitter is a curse in my opinion. I don't want to hear what the players think - I just want them to show me effort and skill on the pitch and realiise just how fortunate they are to be getting mega money for playing a sport. Me and my aching prostate are currently working five nights a week on top of my day job - so I don't care if Darron <daft spelling> has the hump or not.
