Do we watch football to see a company make money, or do we watch with the hope to see our team pick up a trophy?
I've heard a lot of people say in the last two weeks (not on here) about Europa is shit coz the prize money is no good. I know CL money would be great for the club, but any trophy is good news and much more fun to celebrate.
Next season we will play in three cup competitions and we have a realistic chance of winning any of them. I'll be enjoying them all, I hope.

Does 6th qualify for Europa?

They're a small team, but fair play to them they've made it to the second tier of the French leagues so they're there on merit. Apparently it's a very small squad she has to work with too, and will have to use some youth players to make up the numbers. So suffice it to say that even just maintaining their Ligue 2 status for any length of time, she'll have done an exceptional job

Yeh, his back to goal is the problem. But that can be worked on. The £20m is based on pure potential. There is clubs willing to part with that type of money for potential alone. Everton on the other hand have to be very careful.
 
The situation is this... If we have £20m to spend on a striker then the ball is in our court. Plenty of top class strikers available for that!

If Hodgson was true to his word about form then Jones shouldn't have even been in his thoughts in the first place. That's what's annoying.

Welcome to the Forum. Your reasons for choosing Everton are interesting but you don't know just how lucky you are having made that choice. Everton are a family club, a supporters club, No big money men calling the tune, just good honest men who love Everton. A great manager and a great squad. Good forum this too.

I think you should consider switching that around .

Sooo multi millionaire footballers needs subsidising? No, what needs to happen is a wage cap.
 
An idea would be to have brackets by age, i.e players under 25 can earn £50k a week max... that will give them a less incentive of jumping ship for money and focus on developing at their club.

Obviously some teams have suffered as a result of the extra games. We shouldn't be avoiding Europa because of this - we should be learning from their mistakes and make sure we're fully prepared for the extra strain. Roberto definitely has his head screwed on, he's been saying a large squad is key to success since he's joined.

I do not know if it is thanks to my previous post that Liverpool almost lost the title ... But you never know.
Anyway Everton makes a very good year for me and practice one of the most beautiful game of the Premier League. The owner is very interesting, and you have a great coach.
By cons, if you think it is thanks to my post that Liverpool is not champion. Please send me a toffees scarf, and it's you who will be champion next year ;-).

No way he will go to spurs. He likes owners that he can trust and work with. Levy is a snake and would fire him for the bad run we had in the winter, he's too smart to go there.

Yeah, I was being facetious, but it's still interesting that his latest scarf was a Palace one, which he posts on an Everton forum...and then they go and put the final nail in Liverpool's coffin. Thought that was interesting.
