Yeah, Jose's going to go all out for this. Winning trophies is what he judges himself by and they haven't a hope of winning the premier league, in fact they almost certainly won't make top 4. Spurs haven't won the FA Cup in 30 years and winning it will keep him in the fans' good graces after fucking up their league campaign. Expect a full-strength team from them. 

Funny to see Joel Robles pulling off some world class saves against Barcelona right now (having said that Messi just scored).

Despite not actually winning, this is the happiest I've been after a game in a very long time. The context of this is massive - 2-0 down at half time against Man United at Old Trafford.  

This United team sometimes go to pieces when under pressure in the 2nd half so I want to see us come out flying in the 2nd half. Get a goal in the first 20 minutes and a draw at least is still doable.

I feel the same, but on the other hand I'm delighted with how Carlo was clearly able to get a reaction from them and not let that disgraceful half-assed performance become a pattern. 

Besic seems to have been with the club since I became a fan, and I've been a fan since the early 90s. 

If he's in 2 minds about leaving the Championship to play for Everton under Carlo Ancelotti then quite honestly sod him. 

In Carlo/Brands I trust, etc. I know next to nothing about him so I'll wait and see what happens. It's a huge move for him, he probably never imagined Carlo Ancelotti would be his manager less than a season after being relegated to the Championship, so at the very least I'm looking for him to play his heart out for the shirt. I'll take that after the Walking Dead shit-show against Newcastle the other day.   

Well with Kean, Tosun and now Gordon gone we definitely need someone now. 

On the one hand it's very frustrating we haven't taken advantage of United and Arsenal drawing and Leicester, Tottenham and West Ham losing. But on the other hand, thank God those results happened because it means the damage is minimal. On to Leeds. The Newcastle result has been wiped from my memory (why do I always have to say that about our fucking Newcastle results??).

Disappointed not to win because of the chances at the end, but in the cold light of day with our 2 main midfielders out, I'll definitely take that against this Leicester side. Temporarily frustrating but taking a long-term view it's a decent result given the circumstances. 

I've never heard of a "loan with an obligation to buy". What then is the point of the 'loan' part? Just buy him outright if you're going to have to do it anyway, regardless of whether he turns out to be shit. Is it just another way of dodging FFP rules?

It's a coup for sure but I also think we deserve him. We're one of the world's major clubs. Credit to Moshiri for keeping his huge ambition and landing Carlo's signature, and for backing him in the market. Sam Allardyce seems like a bad distant memory now. Watching him go to West Brom while we have the guy who managed Real Madrid and Bayern Munich is so fucking satisfying. His son Davide seems like the real deal too, I'll be happy to see him take over from Carlo something like 10 years from now. 

What stands out to me is his game management. I noticed it especially against Chelsea, how he was constantly in the players' ears and shifting small things around in order to prevent Chelsea working out a game plan to score against us. Under previous managers I almost expected us to throw away leads in the 2nd half but I don't have that fear under Carlo. His vast experience and knowledge of the game really shows. 

Chelsea - beaten. Leicester - beaten. Arsenal - beaten. Not a bad week. Life is good. Thank you Carlo and all the players.

Hope so because that was scummy as fuck. Raked his calf, then deliberately did that 'stepping over him to provoke a reaction' stunt, and then hit the deck to get our player in trouble. One of the most piece of shit moves in the game and it needs to be stamped out.  

Kean scored again yesterday in a 2-0 PSG win, his 6th Ligue 1 goal in 9 games. 

How long is his contract with us? Also, is there a fixed buy-out sum in his loan deal? 

After tonight's Villa - Leeds result we're the only unbeaten team in the league (as well as now being the outright leaders). Let's keep it going lads!

Klopp just said Alisson will miss the next few games for sure. Major blow for them.  

It's a real pity there's no crowd at Goodison to show Carlo and the new signings how much this is appreciated. 

City, Spurs and Arsenal would have all been tougher draws. Happy with this. We'll beat them.
