I don’t think we can be to hard on them. Pen and DCL miss are big moments. On another day we get a well earned point.
City are a team you have to stand back and say beaten by a better side. We are staying with teams like city and spurs and disappointed with the result that is a big difference to last season.

We didn't disgrace ourselves out there tonight. First half we more than held our own against them and did very well at negating their threat as much as possible (you're never going to limit them completely), took our chance when it came and I thought we were worthy of our lead really.
Second half it was like they had 12 men on the pitch in all honesty. They really upped their level and were finding space everywhere, and we really struggled to get to grips with them. It was telling that even Mykolenko was getting murdered that half. We were still trying though and we never threw in the towel.
The third goal (and the way it came about) puts more of a downer on the result but City are a phenomenal football team and they toy with and destroy much better sides than us. So it is what is, there's no point dwelling on it.
One thing, though, there's absolutely no chance we get the penalty they got tonight. None whatsoever.
On to Wolves where we'll get the win.

Loads of credit in the bank for keeping us up the past 2 years.
with that said......he seriously needs to get his head out of his arse and calm the fuck down.  His worst goalkeeping always coincides with when he's agitated.
hes been brewing up to this the past few weeks but last night was nothing like I've seen before. Absolutely no self awareness, raging at players instead of getting his head on the game.

tarkowski genuinely looked like was going to kill him. Never before have I seen an Everton player throw his keeper back in goal, branthwaite was giving him looks that could kill, Michael Keane was literally shaking his head at him.

He's been through this pattern of behaviour before and calmed down so hopefully it will happen again.

Yeah agreed.  I just don't understand the fans who got wound up cos the away fans sang his song.  I thought it was a nice touch for a player who dragged us to safety and earned us a good wedge without acting like a prick
not one of the best players you will see but an amazing team player who gives a lot more to a team than people credit him for

Gomes, to come on and produce a performance like that deserves MOTM, hopefully it’s not a one off.

It's actually shocking a professional player can't use his "other foot" a bit better.

Harrison is the only play who comes close to Doucoure's work rate. Hope to see him play there as well.

I really want him to give the role to Harrison. He was great there when he was asked to do it.

It was the penalty of a player who thinks they are too big for the club.   I don’t think he will be here next season put it that way.

Sorry but I don’t think I could not be hoofing Onana all over the place.  Never ever has a penalty been taken with so much arrogance and disrespect.

im truly lost for words.  The lads who took pennos before and after him didn’t deserve that, nor did Pickford.

the staff did their homework and gave Pickford the right directions - the players executed with great efficiency.  To take a penalty like that shows you don’t care, you value ego above team

It's always a good signing when many players could have been man of match. When in past it would so and so.... I guess ( cause no one was worthy)

Going for Godfrey to even the voting up between him and Keane. We all where a bit apprehesive seeing the pair of them named in the starting line up, both slotted in and played with the consistency and confidence of week in week out performers - massive credit to them both.
Godfrey saw the danger and was on it at speed to produce that goal saving tackle at the end of the first half - I think that made all the difference in this game, Burnley had nothing positive to take from that first half. If that goal had gone in, you feel a total different second half will have taken place.

In our next 4 league games we have 3 of the top 5 with Spurs, Man City, Villa, and Wolves in between, I really fancy us to come away 7-9 points from them games I’m starting to have this belief that we are capable of beating anyone in this league on our day, seriously I wouldn’t have been saying that 6-8 weeks ago. Credit to the coaches and players something has really clicked within the team a couple of games before our 10 points deduction so I wouldn’t be using that as the reason, so it’s got to be Dyche’s persistent messages to the players and the way he has effected their mentality, and the players actually believing in the manager. I still think he needs to learn that Young is past his sell by date as a RB, and sometimes he needs to maybe get tired legs off 5-10 minutes earlier. But overall I’m really excited with what I’ve been witnessing in the last 6-8 weeks and that we are maintaining that standard game after game is something we haven’t seen in the past decade.

They’re not lost points, it’s a deduction, lost points to me means we didn’t get a win or draw. Still fucks me off though, plus all the crap about it’s been good for us.

could have been anyone, even Pickford for those couple of saves.
Went for Garner, he was like a scrum half, constantly following the play, hustling, encouraging, hassling, blocking, keeping things ticking over.

Went for Godfrey, with Patterson a very close second, his attacking threat was immense and defensively he got so much better as the game went on.
Godfrey was just great, defensively a rock-solid tackling, great reading of the game, and that clearance was one of the best bit of defending that I have seen this season.
Most importantly his pace and stamina we back to pre covid levels. Happy to see him in this team.
To be honest the whole team was great so controlled and professional.

I don't know about anyone else but it's pissing me off hearing people in the media now saying "Everton have got back the lost 10 points" and similar nonsense statements.
No, those points are gone and we're currently being robbed of having European aspirations.

Can’t ask for more from a first half away from home, particularly with the line up changes which easily could have messed up the balance, which Dyche seems to have right, players are moving about depending on which way play is going making it very difficult for Burnley to make any inroads. An early 3rd would be fantastic.
Keane and Godfrey stepping up well so far, Patterson showing he’s a better RB over Young.
