Hopefully he brings in a nice wedge of money so we can improve the squad.

I thought Townsend was actually playing well Bailey. Put a few crosses in, work back well to put their players under pressure.
Agree with Iwobi. His miss was terrible, but he seems a different player to that which we saw last season. He actually holds the ball up really well.

Just most golds. No athlete would swap a gold for a silver and 2 bronze.

Looks like Pickford just can't seem to manage not to look like an utter lunatic for us.
If any 'bigger' team is happy to cough up some money for him I'd be more than happy for him to go.

As long as he trains and does his best on the field, then I don’t care that he has a good relationship with Carlo.

Now that I know I'll be able to attend the games this season I think I'll start to feel more into the club again. Part of the excitement for me is going the game, so the uncertainty around that for me was probably playing a part in me not really being arsed.
Fair play to our fans that can't go to the games for whatever reason because that is such a big thing to miss out on.

pete0 reacted to Cornish Steve in Predict our results: 2021-2022
The rules appear to have worked well for a couple of seasons now and are repeated below.
Â
Each week, you'll predict just two things: the final score and the scorer of first Everton’s first goal. Please use the same format each week:
Home-team x-x Away-team
Goal-scorer
For example, you might predict,
Tottenham 0-2 Everton
Allan
Here's how points will be awarded:
a. 1 point for the correct outcome (win, lose, or draw)
b. 1 point for the correct goal difference
c. 1 point for the correct number of goals scored by Everton
d. 1 point for the correct number of goals scored by the opposition
e. 1 point for your prediction being better than the average prediction
f. 2 points for predicting the first Everton goal-scorer
g. 1 point if your predicted goal-scorer scores other than the first goal
h. 3 bonus points if you correctly predict the final score and the first goal-scorer
Here's the fine print on these rules:
You receive 2 points if your goalscorer gets the first goal and 1 point if he gets one of the other goals. You do not get 3 points if he scores both. You can choose "own goal" as your goalscorer, in which case it doesn't matter who from the opposing team scores that own goal. You can choose 'none' as your goalscorer. If Everton score no goals, you'll receive two points. You may predict Everton to score no goals but still enter a first goalscorer. Similarly, you may predict Everton to score one or more goals but still enter 'none' as your goalscorer. For the technically minded, the definition of "better than the average prediction" is quite simple: (ABS[yourEvertonscore - actualEvertonscore] + ABS[youropponentscore - actualopponentscore]) < (ABS[averageEvertonscore - actualEvertonscore] + ABS[averageopponentscore - actualopponentscore]) To be listed in the points-per-prediction totals, you must have predicted the score in at least one-third of the games. Predictions are for Premier League games only, not for other league or cup competitions. Here are some examples. Let's say Everton are playing away to Spurs. The final result is 0-2, with Allan scoring first and Richarlison scoring second.
If you predicted 0-1 (Allan), you score a+d+f = 4 points (and maybe a point for being better than average) If you predicted 1-2 (Richarlison), you score a+c+g = 3 points (and maybe a point for being better than average) If you predicted 1-3 (Keane), you score a+b = 2 points (and maybe a point for being better than average) If you predicted 0-2 (Richarlison), you score a+b+c+d+e+g = 6 points If you predicted 0-2 (Allan), you score a+b+c+d+e+f+h = 10 points If you fail to make a prediction one week, one point will be deducted from your total score. Note: if your score drops to -3, you'll be removed from the competition. (Each season, some people start playing the game and then disappear; this rule is meant to stop this from happening - and to make my life easier when it does.)
Note: all predictions must be posted here prior to kickoff:Â no exceptions. If you want to change your prediction, please do so in a new post; don't edit the first one. The change must be made prior to kickoff. If the game starts at 3:00pm, then you must post your prediction by no later than 2:59pm. If you change your prediction after kickoff, your prediction that week will be null and void and one point will be deducted.

pete0 reacted to MikeO in 2021-2022 Premier League standings predictions
Need a scoring system to decide who was the best predictor at the end of the season.
I suggest..
Correct position...10 points.
Within one...8 points.
Within two...6 points.
Within three...4 points.
Within four...2 points.
Within five...1 point.
Within six...0 points.
Wrong by seven...minus 1 point.
Wrong by eight...minus 2 points.
Wrong by nine...minus 4 points.
Wrong by ten...minus 6 points.
Wrong by eleven...minus 8 points.
Wrong by twelve...minus 10 points.
Wrong by more than twelve...minus however many places you were wrong by.
Agreeable?

pete0 reacted to Romey 1878 in Danny Ings
In the last year of his contract and said he wouldn’t sign a new deal. They’d have been mad to turn down ÂŁ25m for him under those circumstances, and then when you factor in his injury problems it’s a no brainer.Â

pete0 reacted to Bailey in Danny Ings
If he stays fit, Ings will score goals. Not quite sure how they will fit him and Watkins into the same side without weakening one of their games.Â

Just don't get why people don't just say they can't be arsed or give an actual estimated time of arrival.

Flakiness.  I think it’s a generational thing, where millennials (of which I am one) don’t understand the concept of “giving your word”.  Their word is meaningless and not trustworthy.  I was raised you only said something if you meant it.

Was scanning ebay a few days back (as you do) and found an old (1994) t-shirt that I bought back then which I loved. Washed it to death and all the lettering fell off in the end but have just bought it It's a medium so no way will it fit me anymore so it'll probably go to Josh, or in a frame.
Made a bit more special as I have a photo of my wife wearing it in the early days of our relationship. It's three days before the anniversary of her death today, like to think she's sent me a present (although, as always, she made me pay for it).
