Our fans complained that DCL worked the channels too much and was never in the box enough, but then when he mostly stayed in and around the penalty area and scored plenty of goals some questioned his effort levels and actually used the fact that most of his goals came in and around the 6 yard box against him to show that he's actually a poor striker...

Mad thing is the fans who don't want him were happy with Sigurdsson behind the striker chasing shadows and barely making an interception.

I think it’s as much poor managerial tactics as much as it’s his perceived lack of effort. Remember McGeady when he said he couldn’t believe how every team’s fullbacks were rapid.. the game has evolved that your wide players have to be athletic unless you are going to dominate the ball. 
James does enough for me to play 10 and to contribute to a defensive shape. He doesn’t have to make a single tackle, intercept or anything all game but if he pushes the play to where we tactically want it or closes down the space, passing lane or man he’s been told to then that’s enough.

Well the majority on here are getting quite used to the minority always being right so there’s no change there.

This isn't a James thing, this is a let our attacking players attack thing. I was the same with Deulofeu when our fans complained that he didn't race back to the edge of his own penalty area to defend with the other 10 players we already had there. I didn't give a shiny shite because his job was at the other end of the pitch.
If we can't afford to have one player with his main job being to make things happen and let him off with doing as much defensively, then that speaks volumes about how shit our actual defensive players are or maybe how low opinions of them are. 

We’ll be seeing the same people who want rid of James moaning about our lack of creativity a few months after he’s sold. At least the new lads work hard though.

No. Although those two are much worse than the Rooney's yet far less published.

After some of the shit players we’ve seen for Everton over the last three decades, the young stars who never made it (or did make it and leave), the strikers who ran the channels not scoring goals, the big names who were on the last legs, the players who kept us in the league by the skin of their teeth, and people want rid of James. 
We have literally one of the biggest names in world football, bringing the club to the attention of people that wouldn’t have given two shits who Everton were before he arrived. And he's still at his peak, he's only just turned 30 (before anyone starts with his injuries he’s always had these issues they won’t change), he’s never been a player with pace so won’t be losing it. 
Did anyone who wants rid of him actually watch him play for us last season? He did played some unbelievable football. The only issue is he didn’t play more, so why have him play even less by letting him leave. We can’t buy another player who has that level of ability right now. We got him in a perfect storm, so make the most of it. He is the most talented player we have had in our team since Rooney was a teenager. 
If he leaves before I get to see him in the flesh at Goodison Park I’ll be absolutely gutted. 
We should be enjoying seeing such a talent in a blue shirt and enjoy it while we can.

For me he was the least best at centre half last season. Lots of aggression but still wet behind the ears. Potential to be better than the other three but he's not there yet, nevermind Captain.

You sound just like me mate woke up Friday with a stiff neck and feeling a little groggy, Saturday was absolutely battered, Sunday close to going to hospital was completely fucked still thought I had the worse flu ever. Mandy got us to do a flow test it said it can take up to 20 minutes to register mine took less than a minute to show to brownie reddish lines I was positive 5-10 minutes later Mandy was negative. Tried to book a PCR test for Sunday couldn’t get one till Monday got a positive result this morning, phone never stopped with emails and messages to be honest I felt that shit I ignored everyone one then late evening I got a phone call from a Scottish lad working in a Govid centre 20 minutes of questions and I was free to get back to bed, Mandy and myself have isolate till Tuesday. Christ knows what position I’d be in if I hadn’t had both jabs, because without wanting to appear to melodramatic this is the worst I’ve ever felt in my life, boys take it easy and please look after yourselves this is a very dangerous virus we are dealing with here.

I think Godfrey needs to grow as a leader. He doesn't command the back line enough as it is, let alone the rest of the side. 
The captain needs to be a more dominant personality in my opinion, although I am not sure who that is. The only two I can think of are Pickford and Mina and I don't think that would end well!
