No, we need more than that I think.  Since Martinez went (and he absolutely needed to go), and Koeman cam in we've had three decent managers and not one of them has managed to get even a basic level of defending, motivation, cohesion and formation out of them.  The problems must surely go deeper than the manager.  I don't know what the issue is, but my suspicion is that's Moshiri has caused it as it's happened since he's been here, whatever it is.  Anyway, until it's sorted we'll just limp along like this.

Ffs we are Everton. Whats all the bullshit about wanting failed managers back in?
Martinez lost the plot and got fired, koeman did and got fired, unsworth wasn't good enough, allardyce is a dinosaur.
Let's worry about getting the right manager in. Did Liverpool start wishing Rogers back after dalglish? No... get the best option for the next appointment not one that wasn't good enough before.

Where would we be without Oumar Niasse this season? Firmly ensconced in the bottom three, that's where. Never underestimate this man.

Above would be my selection.  Bet it would produce at least a shot on target. No chance of seeing it though...  Just hope that Sam does better with subs this game.

I think its time to remove the rose tinted glasses, Martinez was a one trick poney kept repeating the same old mistakes thats why he was sacked we were going backwards rapidly,
no defense no picking up at corners and a bottle less team, the worst display i have seen at anfield in 40 years.. Ronald mcdonald  just wanted total football so he bought 20 midfielders
As for big Sam and little Sam im not going to call for there heads, its to soon.
If it does not work out for Sam so be it but looking back is not the answer, they were sacked for very good reasons they failed.
    We need to look forward.

I loved Martinez, but I feel he lost the players. Strayed too far tactically from his first season with us.

Walcott annoys the shit out of me.  He's one of the first 'post modern' players.
By that I mean he's one of first of those players who are fast, strong, technically superb, but have virtually no football brain; no real idea when or where to dribble, when to cross, no instinct on how to hurt the opposition, no instinct, no obvious passion for the game.  He'd be better off fannying around at Leicester Square doing free football skills to tourists.
    I don't want him here.

There's an interesting chapter in the book 'Why England Lose' by Simon Kuper that addresses the idea of players being fans of the clubs they play for.
He looks at a few examples of players that were 'fans' of their boyhood clubs including Rooney, but also Ashley Cole, Lampard and some others.  His conclusion is not only that there is no such thing as a a player who is also a fan of a club, but that it is virtually impossible for players to be fans and professional/career minded at the same time in this era, especially for elite players.  Behaviours of a fan and of an elite footballer are totally incompatible.  Looking at it another way, they are on the lookout for themselves, and their careers.  Professional concerns will always trump emotional ones.
Barclay is just the latest example of that.  It won't be the last either, it's just that this example is particularly messy and foul.

Him and Bolasie on the wings...much, much more chances being created.
Whack Sigurdson in between them and a good standard striker...should lead to more goals.
Include Rooney deeper with a solid CM alongside him...and if we still can't create more and/or score more, shoot the lot of them.

    Hey,
I'm also a Turkish supporter and after reading the topic, I thought I could also inform you about Cenk and give you a general idea of what to expect from him.
I'm a Fenerbahçe fan indeed but I've watched all of the Beşiktaş matches this year. (That's because my team appointed a scabies manager who loves defensive football and watching Fenerbahçe games was torture for me.)  Anyway, Cenk was one of the players which I really respected from opposite teams.
The thing you need to know about the Turkish league is, its a harsh league for players, especially offensive and creative players. You know, we don't have the most skillful defenders here and instead of using brain and guessing the next moves of the opponents, they tackle hard and use brute force to stop forward players. Cenk did well and made an impact in this league but that's not the only good thing about him.
He came to Gaziantepspor (a lesser Turkish league team) from E. Frankfurt at the age of 20 and that was a questionable choice because he would easily stay in Germany and keep playing in German national team (remember, he was also in U21 Germany squad). He chose the hard way because he had prove himself again. He was doing good in Gaziantepspor and then he moved to Beşiktaş. Big teams in Turkey are player grinders -especially for the local players- as the supporters don't usually trust Turkish players, media doesn't pay too much attention to them etc. The spotlights are on foreign players. Cenk was the secondary option for most of the time but he never gave up and kept working.
He played with Hugo Almeida, Demba Ba, Mario Gomez, Vincent Aboubakar at that time. Cenk made his impact with the goal he scored against Benfica. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gs1b3dkwhZ4
and then the people/media started to show him more respect about his football. He kept scoring more goals last year by taking more time and this year, he was the primary option for his team, putting the star transfer Alvaro Negredo to bench.
Youtube compilations may give an idea about a player but they're not completely definitive. In Cenk's case, I think he is better than he seems on Youtube.
+ He can hold and carry the ball forward and create his own shot.
    + He likes passing.
+  He's not too tall but he has a good timing and score with headers.
+  He has lots of finishing moves in his inventory, creative player.
+  He has a good attitude and work ethic.

I can agree that he's still "unproven" and PL may be hard to adapt for a normal player but he always chose the hard way in his life and kept rising. I'm expecting him to be successful there. I hope Everton does better in League as well, as I will be watching your games from now on too

Didn't realise he already spoke decent english. That's important, one less barrier to integrating into the team. He looks like Higuain - hopefully he's even half as good!  Good luck Cenk!

Allardyce and Mou have a feud going though don't they?  I wouldn't be surprised if Allardyce is prepared to take a few more risks against them, as he is pig headed, just to fuck over Mourinho; if Man Utd lose they are down to fourth, which is dog shit for them.
