He also kept popping up in the box, and on another day would have got a goal. We are so lucky to have a player like that at our club.

Can't say that his heart's not in after a performance like today - he was brilliant. He is the way he is, and he is the player he is because of that. Paul Scholes was a bit the same and yet you never doubted his heart. I like the fact that he doesn't appear in adverts, in the press or fanny about or fuck of to Bayern of Man Utd when they come sniffing round. He's a solid pro and I wish more players were like him.

He should have done better on the free kick, but he sucked in all the crosses and pulled of 2-3 amazing saves in the first half,so think that's a little harsh on the fella. Just me though.

I think it makes sense. Good club servant, wages probably not too high (compared to a bought in replacement), even though he was exasperating at times, I actually thought that he was getting better with age. Also - he owes us a goal...

I had a sense of foreboding when I was that McCarthy wasn’t playing that we’d fuck this one up. We were poor, but fair play to Palace, and we must remember that since Pulis has taken over, they’ve actually turned into a pretty effective side.
 
Whether McCarthy is injured or not aside, RM got it wrong tonight, but we are still in with a chance of CL football because he has got it so right for most of this season. I too would have laughed if you had told my that we would be pushing hard for 4th place at the fag end of the season.
