Dalziel Kane
Sorry to learn of the passing of Eusebio - the black pearl - recently. Easily the greatest Portugese player there was, and that's saying something when in company with names such as Futre, Ronaldo, Figo, Nuno Gomes etc. Top scorer at England '66 (?), and a great ambassador for the game. Was for Portugal, what Pele was for Brazil. First player to score past Banks in the '66 World Cup, and single handedly took the team past North Korea when all seemed lost - he was worthy of winning a world cup winners medal that year, but unfortunately, it wasn't to be. Condolences to his immediate family at this difficult time. RIP

Cornish Steve
Eusebio dead.....very sad. Hell of a player.....second only to Pele in my mind as a kid. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25611509 Isn't he the guy who was known for playing in bare feet? Dalziel Kane
Isn't he the guy who was known for playing in bare feet? Wasn't aware Sandie Shaw ever played for Portugal.. Or was it Eusebio once scored a chart hit at the Eurovision Song Contest.. Say again, RIP to a great playing individual and of course featured at Goodison Park. Best to his family. MikeO
Isn't he the guy who was known for playing in bare feet? Not heard that but apparently as a kid in Mozambique (Portuguese East Africa as was) he did. Also scored a few at Goodison in the '66 World Cup (as well as Portugal's goal in the semi v England)...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agmUnnjM8eQ .....and he was there when we played Benfica in the UEFA Cup a few years back (317 goals in 301 appearances for them was none too shabby a record). Sibdane
Nice story... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25620878 Very nice indeed. This is what football should be about: bringing together unique individuals for the love of sport.
MikeO
I see there's much debate over Jessica Ennis being pregnant and missing the Commonwealth Games. Have to say the one thing that makes me most sad is that someone's been shagging her and it wasn't me . Life is so unfair. Cornish Steve
I see there's much debate over Jessica Ennis being pregnant and missing the Commonwealth Games. The articles almost read as if she's sick and that pregnancy is a problem. Any parent would remind the authors that parenthood is far more wonderful even than winning at a sport - and that becomes even more evident over time. Well done to this lady for reminding us of that. Completely true.....I'm ashamed of putting my carnal desires above the reality of the situation (though they still exist). Congratulations to them both. Lowensda
Had the foundations to be fantastic. Everything in place for a successful stint at the top. Admired their progression. Young English lads coming through too. See how many get nabbed! Matt

Romey 1878
I like them but I'm going to enjoy it if they fall apart because it means one less club for us to compete with, and Everton is all I care about.

Romey 1878
Ince sacked as Blackpool manager... How he gets employment as a manager is beyond me. He's shite. People will probably complain that it's a case of a black manager not getting a proper chance. Nothing to do with his skin colour, he's just a crap manager.
