aaron
we could get manny for £5mil? dont be so stupid, if it was that price we would have signed him by now.
Heather_6
even though they aint the same player i'd prefer manny to nugent
Joe
even though they aint the same player i'd prefer manny to nugentI agree. He has more potential to be a world class player in my opinion.
Everton_Worshiper
Hmmm, I see Sunderland are picking up the pace to sign Nugent now...£6m plus Stern John. We need to sort this one out and buy him...
CraccerC
you should change your name to Nugent_Worsiper

GoldfishMemory
I'v read somwhere today that clubs will have to table bids of 7mil plus to be able to talk to him!
Adams
Wouldnt want him then anything over 4mil is to much. If he realy wants to sign he will wait till next year when we can get him on the free.
Romey 1878
Wouldnt want him then anything over 4mil is to much. If he realy wants to sign he will wait till next year when we can get him on the free. He won't be free it will go to a tribunal and no tribunal is going to set a fee of pennies for an England international, even though he's only played one senior game and maybe a couple more by then. Adam
I don't think that its Everton that are enquiring for him. Sunderland will be one and I think the other is either Birmingham or The Skunks to replace Owen. Last weeek it didn't look that bad but now over the weekend it looks like we will be out bid for Jag (although can't understand how we can be as all we have to do is offer the release clause) Nugent reports are saying he is going to Sunderland with part exchange and reports today say that Everton won't buy Manny and don't think that Benfica will allow another loan
Everton_Worshiper
^^ Agree....Jagielka is taking too long to sign, no solid rumours of a move for Nugent (except nugents desire to come to us) and Manny's price is too high Let's hope Moyes proves us wrong... Blue4Ever
7 million! thats to high imo, Chelsea got Arjen Robben for 9 million and I think theres quite a bit of differance in class. just proves we could look abroad and sign a quality player alot better than him. tomhardyman
I'm with Adam with this one. Looks to me like Moyes has given up with him or a deal would have probebly already been reached. I remember we were linked with him about a season or 2 agao, and he was about 2 million and we didn't want to pay that. So I doubt we would go all the way up to 8 million or whatever is being quoted. I think we could find better on the market for that price! As for the Jegielka situation, I read somwhere that we were bidding just below the release clause- cause we know he wants to leave anyway! The deal has said to have been stalled by us trying now to involve neysmith in a swap deal for him.
MikeO
From the People.. DAVID NUGENT last night told Preston: Sell me or I'll leave for nothing. The England Under-21 star has refused to sign a new deal and insisted that he must be playing in the Premiership next season, with Everton leading the way for the £6million-rated striker. With only one year left on his deal at Preston, Nugent knows he could move for free next summer, but he is desperate to play in the top flight to force his way into the England senior side for Euro 2008. Nugent said: "Being a full international could price me out of a move. But I've only a year left on my contract so obviously it's up to Preston to accept a bid. "If they don't, they will get no money at the end of the season. "They know I'm not going to sign a new contract. The Premiership is where I need to be." Everton_Worshiper
Hmmmm, I am guessing we have not enquired about him yet then..? He seems to be getting a bit inpatient.... http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...ait+for+Everton
aaron
Dont blame him for not waiting round for us, i wouldn't like to be pissed about either. Hopefully we sign the lad, looks very good, seen him in the u21 match other day, didnt score but looked good, quite good in the air as well. Romey 1878
I dont reckon we'll bid and Everton will live to regret it when he's banging in the goals for Sunderland
sponge1
were more likely 2 get fuckin jason roberts than a good up and comin quality player like nugent
blue4everdan
Don't want Nugent and I don't want Roberts ..... I think we should really put a bid in for Alan Smith, to me he's a quality player and I think he'd do well for us.
Blue4Ever
Id well rather have Nugent than Roberts but I dont no about Smith, he's ok but he's better in the tackle than scoring goals! what kind of striker is that lol
Romey 1878
Smith is a midfielder not a striker really, he's a shit striker and only an adequate midfielder. He's no better than Cahill so why waste £7million.
jmurph
nugent said on skysports that he wants to join everton but aint going to wait around for us....cmon moyes
tomhardyman
I'm not too fussed myself, I like him as a striker, but for 7 million I don't think he is worth it! I wouldn't be particulary displeased if we did get him though!
Dunny the Blue
Bit like that myself. I like Smith, but would much, much rather have Nugent!
