Vranny reacted to Romey 1878 in Anthony Gordon
Good to see him doing his job of creating once he came on tonight by adding another assist to his tally. Now I'm just hoping for a goal from him soon.

Vranny got a reaction from Bailey in West Brom (Home) Saturday September 19th
I see no reason to change the side. If they’re proving hard to breakdown around the hour mark I can see James being pushed into midfield, with a winger being brought on to stretch them further though.

Vranny reacted to Shukes in Hirving Lozano
Watched a few videos of him now.
He just doesn’t look like a player who would do well in the premier league. Falls over more than Richarlison, and easier to knock of the ball. Isn’t very strong, and not particularly fast. Honestly not sure why we’re going in for him.
But so far the transfer window has been amazing, so if we do... then Carlo knows best. We hire these people because they sometimes see what we don’t.

Vranny reacted to Bailey in Hirving Lozano
Completely! I dont claim to have seen lots of Lozano but the bits I have seen make Zaha look a far superior player.
I'd expect Zaha to tear up the Italian leagues.

Vranny got a reaction from Bailey in Zaha
I would agree when fees like 80M we’re getting thrown around, but at 20-30M that’s been mentioned in the media it sounds about right.
Wages getting out of hand is a completely different matter though. Need to hope that the club are doing the right thing in that regard before we keep bringing in new signings.

Vranny got a reaction from London Blue in Everton Line-up 2020-21 (predictions)...
If we’re trying to jam our best players into some sort of workable formation:
Pickford
Kenny Holgate Keane Digne
Doucoure Gomes Allan
James
DCL Richarlison
I think ideally we’d actually manage to sign a half decent right winger, drop Gomes and play 4-3-3, but you can’t have everything.

Vranny reacted to Bailey in Zaha
Fourth Official now pushing that we are preparing a new offer. Suitably vague to allow all outcomes though.
I am probably in a minority but for the right money I would have him here in a heart beat. The three new lads in midfield, Richarlison one side, Zaha the other and whoever can find the net out of Kean and DCL up front.
Aside from the striker, that would be up there with the best midfield and attacks in the league.
The only concern I would have with this is that we would have a lot of similar players on big wages for similar roles. Most of the others are shite but it would be the best part of 1 mil per week on 10s and wingers.

Vranny reacted to RuffRob in James Rodríguez
If Rodriguez stays reasonably fit - at £12M (or even £20M) he could turn out to be one of the best pieces of Premiership business ever. Maybe our Cantona!!!
You can just sense a real feel good factor about the club at the moment - this signing could be more that just what the player brings to the pitch - a real buzz. We are due a bit of 'luck' from our recent transfer windows - finger crossed this season we finally just get that bit of luck you need and things just come together.
I have said it before, Moshri et al's commitment to Everton can't be questioned, so he deserves a bit of the rub of the green as much as anybody for his efforts.

Vranny reacted to SpartyBlue in Abdoulaye Doucouré
The book on James is that you don’t really want him defending. You want him in an attacking role in the center of the pitch where he’s free to roam a bit and to try things without having to worry about getting back to defend. That’s how he’s been used under Ancelotti in the past and under Ancelotti is where he’s been the most successful. He has played winger under Zidane (when he’s played at all) and he can get away with it a bit because he has a tremendous left foot and is a great crosser of the ball but that isn’t where he’s best as he lacks a winger’s pace.

Vranny got a reaction from Bailey in Kevin Mirallas
Moyes only had him for a season. He was arguably better the next season under Martinez too.
The guy was a downhill skier of a player. Only looked interested when the team was travelling well.

Vranny got a reaction from Matt in Longest Thread For Drivel (or the Romelu Lukaku thread)
Also shows how many football fans need to get a grip on reality. Imagine using the same excuses for kidnapping a player’s loved ones or threats (or worse). I like to use the line “football is the most important of the unimportant things in life” in these sort of situations.

is it just me or is that some amazingly creative fucked up logic?!

Vranny reacted to Bailey in Aston Villa (Away) Friday August 23rd
I'd actually take Gomes off and put Siggy deeper. Gomes can't do anything right.

Vranny reacted to Bailey in Aston Villa (Away) Friday August 23rd
I actually think Siggy is a lot more involved today. The only forward player that isn't giving it away with every touch.

Vranny reacted to pete0 in At Petes request, a poll.
I'm asking to name another team that do it. If it's tactics surely you can find one team that does it.
Walsh was a stats idiot, he wanted Gana over Kante and just got lucky at Leicester that Villa bought him (note: Gana played a massive part in them going down and are the only team that come close to clear chances through the middle like we had with Gana). Alladyce inherited a team with very little energy and did look to replace him. Silva didn't want him, and was happy for him to go, pending a replacement.

Vranny reacted to markjazzbassist in Longest Thread For Sport Talk
It shows the true character of the clubs when it gets tough. I have a lot of respect for burnley they stuck with dyche when he got them promoted and relegated and promoted again. It shows they didn’t all of a sudden think they were hot shit. Huddersfield was a miracle to even be up here with Wagner and they never even bought him players at the premier level, no striker or wingers it was blood and guts. When he left I knew they were done for. They’ll be in league two in a couple years time like Sunderland and Portsmouth.

Vranny got a reaction from Sibdane in Cenk Tosun
I’d rather play Richarlison or Walcott up front than Niasse, so he barely counts as cover. He’s a Hail Mary option off the bench for the last 5-10 mins at best. His dribbling and basic passing are both that bad that you literally don’t want him touching the ball unless it’s for a header or shot.
May as well sell him (Niasse) while we can get some token fee for him, hope Kean settles and then we can always sell Tosun in January when teams are desperate for goals to stave off relegation.
-
Vranny reacted to Sibdane in Cenk Tosun
If I had to pick one I know who I'd choose. Niasse may have a slightly better goal ratio, but some of those goals were pure luck (ass goal comes to mind). It's great he got them, and the argument could be made that he was making the right runs, but you can't rely on flukes like that.
Niasse probably works harder, but Tosun is an all-around better player and looks to gel better with his teammates. I appreciate that Niasse never put his head down after being treated so strangely by Koeman, but that really shouldn't matter when you consider Tosun has also been a consummate professional as well. Watching Niasse in the pre-season matches was awul as well.
I'd keep Tosun.

Vranny reacted to duncanmckenzieismagic in Cenk Tosun
I would happily keep him if we can get rid of Niasse, even if it’s only until January
Moise Keen is still young and unproven so needs to be given time

Vranny reacted to aaron in Carabao Cup
Go and ask Man City if it means nothing. It was the start of their trophy haul in the recent years.
Honestly cant believe I've read people turning their nose up at a meaningful trophy. Absolute disgrace that.
