Seems a pretty simple situation to me. Silva wants him, but the club has a valuation for him. If Leipzig meet that, he goes. If they don't, he stays. Does Lookman want to go? Probably, his dealings with the previous regime probably left a sour taste and hey, he might actually have enjoyed Germany. That is allowed. Does that mean we should sell him for less than our valuation? Don't be daft. 
If he is still an Everton player on Sept 1st, I have no doubt we'll see a very good player emerge under Silva. If he goes, so be it, we'll have made a very tidy profit on him. 

I was watching him closely and have to say, I was disappointed with his body language. If that was him showcasing his talent, no matter how long he got.... then he needs a reality check.
I have not judged him on rumours at all. But now I have witnessed it with my own two eyes...... Ademola Mirralas Lookman can go.

I’m saying we don’t need to rush this as, yes he seems like the star asset now but what if he has a poor season? We need to be careful as Pickford’s only done it for 1 season where he was good but not as good as the hype that surrounds him now after the World Cup. I was pointing out that Spurs kept players happy despite not being on huge wages. I don’t know about now but Lloris was on more than Kane. Other 1st team players, however good they are, like Alli and Davies are on way less. Spurs haven’t given those wages out straight away and they’ve kept the ship steady.
I’m not disagreeing with Newty, just making the point that, although he’s our star asset currently, we need to manage it on our terms as we could have another star asset next season and still finish 8th or so - it’ll soon add up if we’re following this model. The problem we’ve got is that we need to offer higher wages to tempt players here in the first place - Spurs have Champions League football, the lure of London, the fact that they’re at least competitive and now the new stadium.
I’d personally have pretty standard basic wages for 1st teamers then the rest is based on bonuses e.g wins, goals, clean sheets, assists - specific to the player. Sandro is rumoured to be on £120k a week here. We’d be better paying him £40k then he earns the rest with £40k at win, £20k a goal or assist etc... sad fact is that he’s probably got bonuses on top of that wage anyway.

The thing with Klaassen that makes me think there is something there is the way he passes the ball and how quickly he spots the pass. He seems to be able to play defence splitting passes in a flash.
He doesn't seem the type to dribble time after time with the ball but he certainly seems to know how to make the pass. Whether that's enough to make it, probably isn'tt.
I'm also confused about how Niasse is being rated around the web etc for last night. He was poor. Many times he either fell over the ball, misplaced a pass or just didn't have the quality required. Not sure how he came out with good ratings.
With a bit of reflection, that team last night was made up of a lot of 'on the fence' players and many have not done themselves too much good. The cameras went to Silva at one point in the second half and he looked blatantly obviously pissed off!!!

We have played the worst football I have seen in many a year, I agree we were bad before he came but Unsy had a good win playing decent football then he came, he kept the same team Unsy had the week before and made it back to back wins, since then we have gone downhill.
He has never played the same team twice, he makes 3 or 4 changes and continually changes tactics, the players look as if they don't want to play and are beaten before they come onto the pitch.  Yet we are only 4 or 5 points off 7th place, should have left Unsworth in charge they would be playing with a bit more pride now and would have got more points than they have.
It's no good people saying he came here to keep us up and he's done the job, any manager would have kept this squad up, I still believe we can finish  7th but that's not because of him, he has removed any football capabilities the players had by insisting that ten men stay behind the ball in our own half, what he's doing is driving the club to the point of ridicule, I want him out asap.

It's Davies we need to give an improved 5 year contract, the big boys will soon come calling.

If he plays and gets injured we should look to terminate his contract and seek compensation for it because this is getting fucking rodiculous now.

But who does that profile matter to? The owner? The fans? The media? All that matters is picking whoever you think will give you the best chance of winning football matches. What was Roger's profile before he ended up managing Swansea, then very quickly the shite? What was Mourinho's profile before he won the CL with Porto?
Unless things go really bad, there's not much hope of Koeman going before May. But let's judge Unsworth then too. Because he could do something remarkable. He has basically lost his entire first choice XI from the side he won the U23 championship with last year. Now it's only early stages, but is it four wins on the bounce now? With a completely different side? That suggests he knows what he doing.

I said a week or two back that we need to get working on his replacement.  Definitely. 

I think we need to put some width in the team to stretch the opposition a bit for the first time this season as all of the CMs isn't working too well. I'm probably changing too much of the starting XI but I'd go for...

Pennington has had a baptism of fire over the last 2 weeks, and he has improved with every game, shown character and passed a tough test against Leicester. I think he has the skills to be a good defender, how far he will go its too early to say, but to write him off now is way too premature.

The short-sightedness on here sometimes is astounding...

I'm sure he could have done if he'd kept the instruction manual but it's no basis for assessing his ability on the pitch.

I have heard a rumour, and I stress a rumour, that the main fee will be around 20 mil with add ons amounting closer to 30, albeit the add ons are unlikely to happen (such as winning the league).
 
Basically Palace want it to look like they are getting a lot because he is a fan fave and they don't want to risk the backlash of supposedly selling one of their best players for a reasonable fee.
 
The more I think about this the more positive I get. He would be the best winger we have and probably the most consistent too.

rudimentary analysis for me brings me to think at worst it's the same results as BK tenure but with a new stadium. 18 years they ran the Padres and qualfied for playoffs 4 times and went to World Series 1 time. Basically the same Everton CL/Europa qualification during BK tenure except we didn't make it to a final of either.

Clever player who's link up play with Baines was as good as any partnership I've ever seen.
Every team needs a player like he or Osman to get by the parked bus, shame both players are past their best.

How many people on the forum have been saying "bring in some of the youngsters, give them a shot since it won't matter too much, now is a period when we can be learning"? So, we do that with penalty-takers and "it astounds me." At this point in the season, why not allow others to take a couple of penalties?

I get your support of him o really do. He os an excellent player. But the fact is he is off form in a huge way at the moment.
 
If he wants to play then make the effort once you get the chance.
