AlbanyNYToffee got a reaction from badaids in Newcastle (Away) 8th February
Even with 4 regulars unavailable no place for Gbamin Tosun and Rondon. HAPPY DAYS.

Also can we talk about the fact that this is the strongest bench I've seen from Everton in quite some time

While I doubt Frank would've changed from the back 5 even if Mykolenko had been available, this tied his hands. At least with 3 defenders Townsend will have some help.
Plus he works his ass off, so I'm actually not too worried about it.

A manager that gives praise out and demands more at the same time... madness.

Delighted with the win. Wish to hell this was a league game though.

You know things are going well when we score a well-worked goal from Tosun, Iwobi and Townsend.
UTFT!

My wife's originally from Plymouth, and there's a well-known family in the city with last name Bastard. One of them, a solicitor with a prominent office on the Hoe, has the first name Robin.
But, as always, we digress.

I don’t drink at the game as I’m with my lad ( hurry up son and grow up! ) but can say this, there’s many pubs once you leave Lime St and the city centre until you get to County Road, that’s where you will see the blue pubs, personally I love getting the 919 Soccer bus from outside Lime St to the ground it stops just before it, and when you jump off the Park End is in front, it’s even better at night when all lit up. I’d get the bus and give yourself more time to wander round and try a few of the pubs around the ground/County Rd.
My nephew who lives in LA came over a couple, of years ago and managed to tickets for OT, I know he paid a fortune for them via stub hub, they only come up for sale nearer the date of the game.
The Bramley Moore bit will take you out of your way a bit, it’s a 30 min walk up to Goodison, it can be seen from the Merseyrail line, and other than the cranes there’s not much to see yet.
Have a good trip, where are your seats?

Hope you have a fantastic trip. Not going to be much help (not being local) so no idea on pubs on the road from Lime Street, always drive or get coach to near the ground. Have driven down to have a look at BMD, before any construction started admittedly, and looking at the wall and the gate was a nice thing to do; but I don't think you'll be able to see much beyond that.
Do have Uber yes, so that shouldn't be an issue; no idea on United tickets though.

Dele got Jose'd. Simple as that for me. Let's see if he can recover. 50/50 chance at best.

Back to Goodison March 12th!!! Probably the last visit to the Old Lady (although i'm going to try for spring 2024) before a return trip the year Bramley Moore opens.
Love the Brick and Winslow. Curious if anyone else has any stops along the way (we'll be walking from Lime Street station) or if there is enough to look at that a walk over to Bramley Moore is worth it?
Couple of other random questions in case anyone has any knowledge:
Immediately after the game we're taking a cab over to Utd/Spurs - is it impossible to get a cab afterwards? Do you guys have Uber?
Anyone know anyone who has access to Utd tix? They're really f***ing hard to get your hands on.

AlbanyNYToffee reacted to Gwlad in Frank Lampard
I'm glad to have a British manager who has played and managed in the Premier League with a strong coaching team around him.. It's going to be different to the past 9 years.

It’s not like we haven’t got a great track record of signing players whose careers have stalled then we’ve got them back on track ( Arteta , Piennar, Ferguson , Barmby etc )
Lets face it if the likes of Alli and Van der Beek were bag in form there is not a cats chance in hell they would be signing for us given where we are

The more I read about the finances of this deal the more I think the people running Everton have done a fantastic job here. Which has got me listening out for the four horsemen of the apocalypse.

If rumors about Dele are true we have to sell first. The only realistic options at this point are Holgate and Kenny. Gomes and Gbamin are possible I suppose but far less likely. If this day ends with Dele bought, Gueye and Jovic on loan, and Holgate sold i'll piss myself. If we found a loan for Iwobi on top it would rival my wedding day.

AlbanyNYToffee got a reaction from Gwlad in Frank Lampard
You don't sign a manager strictly to keep players from leaving but it could be a nice bonus if our results improve. The fact is a week ago DCL and Richarlison were 100% gone this summer and now, with Frank's name recognition and ability to recruit players there is at least a chance they stay. Small chance, but one nonetheless.

Very controversial, for sure, but Dean Henderson wants out at United. Pickford for Henderson plus 40m?

Here's hoping the conditions to be met are things like winning a trophy or finishing in the top half. We'll be sure to have fleeced em then!

I'm pleased we're strengthening the midfield, and have brought in fullbacks for the future, but again...I've been harping on about it since the summer, but we need a proper leader at center half. I get the sense that won't be happening this window, but it has to be #1 priority in the summer. No question.
-
AlbanyNYToffee reacted to Cornish Steve in January Transfer Window
I'm pleased about the priorities: Midfield must always be the primary focus. We've already brought in two players for defence, I don't expect more, so a capable backup striker in case DC-L falls injured again is the only other need.
It would be nice to see the back of Tosun, Iwobi, Kenny, and Gomes, but we've probably run out of time.
