I hope RM sits down with the players and shows them a "this is what you were doing" - "this is what you are doing right".
 
With Rom I see a glimer of hope with his back to goal play. Thje glimmer of hope is that he is not thinking about his next ball before he has it under control. He seems to be concentrating on just getting it under and then making his choice.
 
When I moved into a central role from out wide and played as a target man I had a pretty good team mate who coincidentally was at Everton up to 14, his control was daft - his nickname was velcro. He said one of the tricks is to relax when it comes to you, if you are thinking about "must control and lay off to that man there - you tense up, relax and stay soft footed".
 
Rom seems to be doing that, I have to hold my hands up and admit he has done some pieces of control that were beyond him. I do think we will still see the odd shinner but he is making progress.
 
I honestly do think that whatever anyone thinks of Kone, he is gonna benefit Rom. 2 lads up front 6ft 2+ with decent size, strength and pace is a nightmare. I love Naismith and he is one of the best in the air but I honestly think those 2 could be a good wrecking ball for Naisy to come on in the last 20 minutes or so.

One of the first top flight games I went to was at Loftus Road when I was about eight, QPR had signed a goalkeeper called Alan Spratley from our local non-league club (where we were season ticket holders) and he was making his debut so we went to watch them play West Ham.
 
Ground was being redeveloped at the time so they had no proper toilets, so instead had a row of metal dustbins for the "gents" (fuck knows what the ladies was like). No drainage so after a long queue dying for a piss I was presented with a bin full to the brim.....surface tension in fact...and I had to stand on tip toe to get my infantile weapon above the level...you get the idea. No idea what you were supposed to do if you needed a shit .
 
Unsurprisingly, that memory is still with me pushing fifty years later.

Im completely the opposite. I want to take something from this shit pile of a season. As long as we finish 17th or higher I couldn't care about the league. Obviously most people are of the belief that we'll be flat out reaching 17th, but I'd like to respectfully disagree with that.

Barkley has proven he's not up to speed this season, Kone has looked promising in his cameos. Plus, he is used to relegation scraps, experience we unfortunately need at the moment.

We could play any formation and still look shite. Our speed of play is our hindrance and needs sorting before anything.

No romanticism about those escapes they were the absolute low point for me as an Evertonian.
My point is if we showed even a modicum of fight or passion we wouldn't be in this position, and that is the travesty for me.

Haven't seen us play this well for a long long time. Fluent attack. Shame about the one conceded but we got done on the counter. Rom has been immense, every bit the player we know he can be.

I like that, but I'd probably have Mirallas on the left and bring Atsu in. I know Atsu didn't look great in the few chances he had before the ACON, but his confidence must be sky high at the moment. If there's a time to play him, it's now.

The answer is to drop Barry and play barkley instead. Of the three Besic/McCarthy/Barry, Barry is meant to be the passer and creator but he isn't doing it. Play Naisy as a false 9 with 2 wide strikers in Rom/Kev and tell the full back to get on!

We need Mirallas. Simply put.

It's getting rather dire isn't it. I know this forum is about debate, and I haven't a problem with anyone here and the odd argument/disagreement is warranted but it's getting petty and simply making it miserable on here.

I did hear yesterday, and I'm not normally one to post what I hear off a mate ect ect, but the whole penalty debacle - apparently Kev had a shirt underneath with a tribute to the young Belgian boy Junior Malanda and that's why he took the penalty. Again wrong it may be as their is an order, but I did not ever believe it was him putting himself in the shop window regardless the truth to this or not.
