Deacs got a reaction from plaidharper in Carlo Ancelotti
I don’t think Norwich fans would agree with you.

Deacs reacted to Palfy in Carlo Ancelotti
Go back to the end of last season exactly the same things were said then by a multitude of people, it’s pie in the sky to expect him to get us challenging for a top 4 place next season, he’s got to much to change next season to expect that.
I do understand the feel good factor when a new manager comes in especially a big one like Ancelotti, but I think we need to tinge it with a bit of reality and not expect to much, or we just set ourselves up for disappointment
7th or 8th playing good football with new signings that actually do what we bought them to do, will be more than enough for me in season one.

Kean definitely won’t come good if he doesn’t play though.

Well Sib mate lets look at it another way he got 5 points from 3 games, and against 3 of the better teams in the league.
Now if we work on percentages like yourself, if he was manager for the whole 18 games played based on 5 points every 3 games we would have 30 points and be sitting in 4th spot, not bad for a bit of hard work and fire in your belly.

Apparently we ran further in that half than in in any single half under Koeman, Allardyce or Silva.

It was the practical thing to do. Never keep a player that wants to be elsewhere (Fergie was an expert at this!) Gana wanted to go in January and I’m sure we said wait till summer. He didn’t down tools and we got a good fee for an ageing player. We are though without doubt a worse team without him.

Dunno why I bother but here goes... I wasn't comparing DCL to Niasse, I was comparing him Tosun to Niasse. Less goals, less impact, another 20 odd million spunked up the wall. If you don't think our lack of goals from our strikers is a problem then I'm not even going to bother debating it with you because it's a glaring issue.
We played 3 CBs on Sunday and last night, we're an injury away from having to play Keane again every game. Thats guaranteed dropped points, a direct result of having no squad depth in the position.
Davies and Gana... Pffff. I like Davies, but he isn't close to being Gana's level. Not as mobile, doesn't read the game as well. Different player altogether for me, Davies at his best is a creative 6, maybe even an 8 with the right players around him. Gana is a superb destroyer and cover for the back 4. It's not just that we miss him, it's that we're stuck playing Sigurdsson in midfield who is just a disgrace, and even Silva realises how shite Schneiderlin is because he'd rather play Sigurdsson over him. Again, all down to no depth, no options, having to play poor and rank out of form players

Watched him in that caraboa cup. He looked head and shoulders above every player on the pitch.
Rubbish at football, but very tall!!

Deacs reacted to Heath in Moise Kean
Kean late for the team meeting but apologised to all concerned. Unless it becomes a regular thing and he starts to take the piss, then that should be an end to the matter and attention should focus on his development and getting him in the team.

Keane's had it tough this season, but part of that is because he's been left to play two positions, Coleman has deserted his defensive duties and is cought upfield too often. The manager is also to blame for doing away with the Digne and Bernard attacking play on the left to try and produce the same on the right but its not working.
Bernard back in, Iwobi replaces Sigurdson in the middle, Gambin and Gomes for Delph and Sneiderlin and we should be OK.

How come? Mina has been the better of the two, and Zouma was also when he was here. He's a clear weak link that needs addressing, that and the shoehorning of Sigurdssen.

Deacs got a reaction from Bill in Carabao Cup
I’d take an FA cup win over finishing 3rd in the League and a league cup win over finishing 5th. Obviously winning the league would be my preference.

We've played two games, and defenses don't tend to gel until five or six weeks into the season. The fact that we haven't conceded a goal at home since February is quite an achievement and no fluke. Pickford is part of that defense, and the fact that he's playing well shouldn't detract from our defensive record as a whole. If we can match a solid defense with Matinezesque attacking flair, we're going to be quite a force this season.

As always you’ve missed the point.
Back then we had a young up and coming side and the mere fact they got to Wembley and more than matched The Shite over the two games, we would have won it if the ref had not ignored Hansen's hand ball, instilled a lot of belief in them. It made them realise they could compete with the best
So much so that we went on to have a strong finish in the league that season and were back at Wembley a few months later to lift the FA Cup and the most successful ever Everton side was born
Most say the real turning point for that side was even earlier , that it was a late equaliser by Adrian Heath against Oxford in the quarter final of a cup competition, guess which one?
Either way if Kendall had your attitude to winning trophies back then he may have rested players against Oxford and lost that game , lost his job and the great side of the 80’s may never have come to fruition
By the way it was the FA Cup final where Watford played their second keeper, so should we not try and win that either?

Deacs got a reaction from Shukes in Summer Transfer Window
Great analogy. To much analytical thinking now a days. Where’s the emotion? Watching a match on TV can be like watching a game of FIFA. Even in the middle of winter the pitches are bright green and perfect. Great for the players but I miss the chaos a winter pitch used to cause. The games so different now and not all for the better.

There is a massive amount of difference between the quality of players you have mentioned, not to mention different leagues and different positions. You can deal with a lack of pace at CB especially in Italy, you can deal with a lack of pace when playing as a DM especially when the team you play for sees a lot of the ball. You try and play Pirlo or Busquets box to box or Maldini in a high press, average possession team and then see how good they look. They won't suddenly become crap players but they will show their physical limitations far more regularly.
On the whole though I would agree with you. I would rather have smart players over quick or strong ones but if you want to see the best from those smart players you need to build a team around them that will cover for their limitations. That is the only reason I can think of as to why Siggurdson isn't a central midfielder.

Deacs reacted to Btay in André Gomes
We’ve been strong at the back for a while - Mina coming in is the only question mark for me right now. Completion for Coleman will hopefully keep him at his upper levels.
Its not to be more attacking but to allow Bernard and richarlison to stay higher and get more of the ball in the final third as Gylfi just isn’t getting on it enough. Hopefully force him onto it deeper!

It’s not hard Pete. U have a fast winger and a striker that needs said wingers. God forbid what would have happened if Sam would have stayed . That wasn’t Sam with a point to prove ala Bolton. He was padding out his pension and used us accordingly
