For every player that might be short of a few bob, there is a Baines or Cahill etc.
Royle also spent a long time working with Kenwright. Has he said why he left? Didnt he join the board at Wigan or was that later?
Again I just dont think that is a story. Bloke gets freebies taken away because he criticises the owner? Its hardly a shock.
I just think there is so much you can easily criticise him for, this type of stuff isnt needed and detracts from the more important points.

I said the same to my son at 0-4, that we could end up 7 or 8, really surprised we didn’t to be honest.
The goal we got could well prove to be invaluable.

This team is capable of playing counter attacking, snatch and grab football, Frank Lamaprd is capable of putting a team on the pitch that can effectively play that type of football. So to this effect I don't see the point in hiring a Alladayce/Dyche type to do this and totally start from scratch with a new backroom staff again.
I also don't see the point in bringing a coach that wants to play with the ball, As the squad is not good enough. As managers (with better player at their disposal) have found out.

Just got home. It was horrendous! I can’t disagree with any of the above. I was one of the stupid few that stayed to the end. We can’t afford to go down but the feeling I got inside the stadium today was like nothing I’d experienced all last season. Apathy, realisation, inevitability, predictability and just numbness to it all. No one was really angry after. No hostile arguing amongst our own fans, no bins being punched, nor even that much shouting at the players who walked down the tunnel without acknowledging the crowd. It felt like a wake. I don’t think there will be the appetite and enthusiasm to drag the team over the line again.

    Gray.
Worked his arse off, did some good work in attack, at times doesn't look up to get the ball into the box, favouring looking to make himself a shot but did get some balls into the box also.  Was up and down the pitch putting challenges and kept at it all game while others capitulated.

Played a good ball through for the 4th goal. Just a shame it was for them you know. Frank must have told him to try play the striker in more but obviously wasn’t clear enough.
Things to work on in training I guess.

Richarlison and Pickford were the difference last season. We’ve lost a big part of that duo with no replacement.

Gueye can definitely not look himself in the mirror.
I do think he was one of the best performers in the first half but he plays a part in the last three goals. The 2nd he reacts too late, going to ground and not winning the ball. the 3rd, he could get out quicker once Tarkowski has been mugged off (albeit questionable as to whether it would have made a difference) and well the 4th is obvious.
A lot of the so called leaders like Gueye, Tarkowki and Coady all disappeared in that game when we needed them to step up.

Great result, rode our luck but maybe it’s time  a few things went in our favour, time for all the doom mongers to change tack and start praising Lampard.

You know, I'm so pleased that Gray scored and stunned the moaning minnies on this forum. Just reread the comments early on: Everton will lose, we'll get slaughtered, our tactics are all wrong, yada yada. And we end up stealing a point from the champions! Why aren't we cheering our team, guys? Why aren't we believing in them? Are we going to allow the media to dictate our mood or a weird collective negativity? We tied the league leaders away from home and completely wound up Haaland. We did well!

    And I predicted a 1-1 tie.

Now is the time to find out if he can stay fit (ever) again. If he gets hurt we open the checkbook. If he doesn't we might just win a few games...and we hopefully still open the checkbook
Would be so Everton to protect him in January, not sign cover and he gets hurt in early February. His career and our season are at risk of going off the rails, time to see what he and we are made of.

    This.
We're playing poorly but in a lot of games we're still making chances and if even if just a couple are put away at the right times things look a bit better for us.
A lot of our problems in terms of results stem from missed chances then causing heads and confidence to drop. Look at the Palace game - we took our chances and we played some very good football in that game. Wolves is the opposite to that.

Thirlwel and Lampard and his team are part of a plan to bring longer term stability to the club. Sacking Lampard now would be giving in to short term panic. We have to hold our nerve and see this through.

I would play him.  He can stroll around by himself up front with not much to do for the most part so not too much running about all over.
He is better at hold the ball up when we can get it out to him than Maupay and he is also better for defending set pieces.
Added to that he's more likely to get in the right place and take a chance if we manage to get one.
Give him 60 minutes or so and see how he's getting on.
I'd rather that than throw him on towards the end of the game for a run out when the game is lost and he's then struggling to get up to speed with the action.

We need the whole budget going on a quality forward. Don't care if he's 30, we need a target man who can relieve the pressure on the rest of the team by creating an outlet and space. We've not got the luxury to plan for the future in that role, not this window anyway. Screw the sell on argument, we need goals now.

Probably right, but his first touch was poor, and then he went down too easily by the shove, a better first touch and being stronger on the ball should have given us a second.

We bought potential. He’s far from the ready made player we would like. He’ll take time before he’s there. He’s also learning to play a bit further back (I’d rather he was further forward and Gana was further back).

Maybe it's because he is very young, only been in new country a few months, only played a dozen or so Premiership games.
It's a bit early to start ripping shreads off the boy for not dominating Premiership games for 90mins.
We wanted raw, quality youth at club, but there is no point if we are not going to give them the time needed to develop.

I missed half of the first half but thought that half looked very open, we had a few squandered chances with Gordon and Maupay not making the most of good opportunities.  Both teams were full of errors, especially Wolves giving the ball away in dangerous areas with sloppy touches but we never capitalised.
Second half we seemed to have control for most of the half without really creating much.  We had 59% possession but they were generally well organised and we just lack ideas.
Actually though the levels of the 2 teams doesn't compare, the England v France game looked very similar at times.  The centre backs in that game spent too much time sideways passing as France held a good solid set up while the French looked dangerous on the counter.
It is very hard to break through a team that has 2 good lines set up but our lack of any movement or midfield showing for the ball really shows up when a team is well set up like this.  Onana and Gueye need to be finding space and looking to take the ball on, sometimes it will need to return again but that gets things moving around more than just going side to side.  The wingers need to be either looking to make a run or dropping back to show for the ball and the full backs need to offer more (admittedly Patterson at the end was absent because of a forward run but there was plenty behind him to cover).
I'm really disappointed that it's not working for Lampard and his team at the moment, it seemed like he had a good team of coaches around him who could all offer help in different areas but certainly, in attack we're not seeing any improvement.  The players might be not be the best but with good coaching they should definitely look like they have more idea than they have done.  Whenever you see training videos they always seem to be working on tight space quick movement passing yet when confronted by it in a game the players are all stood still.  That's a level of intensity they're missing when stood at Goodison in front of 40,000 that they seem to have when out on a pitch with the coaches around them.

Back him and get a proper striker + winger in January & early in the window.
Maupay, gordon, gray & mcniel just don’t provide any real threat. Also just are not clinical enough.

I really thought this season was going to see some improvements, it just hasn't happened. Being without our main CF doesn’t help, but lumping it up to his replacement who provides no aerial threat is crazy. I’m struggling to see how Frank will be able to change things and fear for another rinse and repeat process in a few games.
