Cisk reacted to Matt in Sergio Romero
He frustrated at being backup. I don’t see either he or Pickford accepting a backup role and I don’t see us letting Pickford go.

Do it once and do a bad job - won't have to worry about being asked to do it again then

honestly i'd rather spend 30m and get allan from napoli, sure he's older but he's been doing the business at a high level in Serie A and CL/Europa for a few years. i want the sure thing for DM, not a hope and a prayer (which i think pierre is). go for broke on the DM, we can skimp on the RW if we have to and get geri or something. quality DM is a MUST

Cisk got a reaction from Matt in Adam Lallana
We've been burnt too many times by signing injury prone players past their prime on cheap transfer fees/free transfers hoping they will shake off their injury problems and return to the good old days. They dont.
Lallana is past it and he will sign for someone for 100k+ wages. Be surprised if he plays 20+ league games again in a season for someone. He might put in a MoM performance now and again but not really much else.

Move on, 25m+ is silly for him and with 12 months remaining on his contract

This one is low risk financially. He's on a free and could potentially take a discount to play for his boyhood club and not have to move his family to a new city. Absolutely no more than a 2 yr deal and I kinda like it. He could be our super sub and cool head during cup games with some of the kids playing.

Cisk got a reaction from Hafnia in Jordan Pickford
Think Pope getting England shirt may be the injection he needs - or he falls like Hart.

Cisk reacted to Hafnia in Summer Transfer Window
I honestly think most of our supporters either weren't old enough or forgot what it was like to have Southall or Nigel Martyn. Tim Howard was the last credible keeper and only credible keeper we've have in the past 20 years. That lack of professionalism of this lad is startling.

I know your angry and annoyed following that shambles today but I also think you’re disillusioned. The players have been a shambles for a while and they are mish mash of bad recruitment and other managers left overs. If you truly think even a Klopp or Pep could get much more out of these you’re badly mistaken. It’s not Carlo who can’t pass the ball 5 yards to a player or turn and have pace like a P&O ferry. The squad isn’t build on any system that works and he’s even tried today to bring in youth and it’s clear they’re not ready. He’s playing the terrible hand he’s been dealt with and needs to try all sorts in order to try to start the rebuild.

Cisk got a reaction from Sibdane in The Run-in and Europa
Tonight's game with Spurs is key I think. I see them as the ones who are likely to get 7th spot (Us catching Wolves for 6th spot is unrealistic). Their remaining games after us are straightforward I'd say.
I think Palace, Arsenal, Sheffield and Burnley will drop points in their remaining games - Burnley possibly have the easier run in of all. Sheffield and Arsenal have tough matches left. We do too, with either European contenders or fighters to avoid relegation - not easy. I think 12 pts is possible for us from the remaining games unless we go mental and have one hell of a finish to the season for us - will that be enough to beat Spurs (if we lose tonight) or Arsenal? I'm not sure.

No brainer if that fee is right, creative flair and dead ball sorted. Still a good age too.
Oh sit down...

Cisk reacted to markjazzbassist in Weston McKennie
I don’t have the profile he does, so no. We have a lot of fans on here and matchdays at Goodison from America because of Howard. It’s smart from a commercial perspective too (see man United’s kit sponsor) to get more visibility in the states. I’m all for good players but surely moshiri and the board thinking of this marketing stuff as well? Cahill got us a ton of Aussie fans, had Cenk kicked on wed have gotten Turks too.
im not saying sign people just because of this. But I would hope someone is thinking of this stuff and how to maximize profits.

Cisk got a reaction from Zoo 2.0 in Keep/Sell - Summer 2020 Edition
Yep, good one Zoo!
Similar thoughts....
Keep: Pickford (starter), Holgate (starter & most improved player this season), Baines (reliable back-up & exp pro), Richarlison (starter, only threat / flair), DCL (starter, still to improve), Walcott (rotation), Digne (starter, needs to get back to prev season perfromances), Mina (starter, although free kick waiting to happen), Bernard (rotation), Gomes (starter, needs the right CM next to him), Coleman (rotation), Gbamin (get him fit and decide at end of 2020/21), Davies (rotation), Kean (rotation, decide at end of 2020/21), Branthwaite (keep in U23 to play and then bench on PL match days if numbers short), Virginia (loan out to mid Champ team), Baningime (loan out [if possible] or same as Branthwaite), Adeniran (loan out to mid Champ team), Gordon (rotation).
Move on: Keane (not good enough), Delph (hes no Barry & wages high), Siggy (round peg, square hole), Tosun (not good enough), Iwobi (panic buy, coasting), Sidibe (not good enough), Steke (already leaving), Niasse (panic buy, not good enough), Martina (other than versatility, offers nothing), Besic (1 good WC game, not good enough).
Realistically I can only see the last 5 of these moving on - maybe Siggy. Cant see anyone fighting over Keane or wanting to take Iwobi or Delph off us. Tosun may go again in Jan for Euros place (thats if fit) - althouhg interesting to hear Carlo did not want him to go to Palace back in January.
Based on this I think I'm looking at new CB, DCM*, CM, RW* players if we can - desperate for the starting * positions.....unless Gordon come through on RW or we move Richarlison there.
If Kenny wants to stay then he and Coleman can fight out starting RB position (Holgate back-up for injuries). No need to sign new RB here unless Kenny moves on.
No other current players out on loan look anywhere close to our PL squad. Lossl is also a strange one - he will not challenge and play enough games in starting XL next season but he needs games to match his National needs. I'd probably sell Lossl and find a decent ageing pro who is happy to be a bench warmer (younger than Steke) or go the other way and sign a youngster with better potential than Virginia who we can play in cup games and the odd league game here n there. Who these are I do not know.
I have a couple of conundrums: 1) Bernard - I like him and have his name on my shirt this season but, he just does not play enough. Unsure if he is on good wages or not (assume he is as he was a free transfer) but if we want to sell someone for decent money and lower wage bill then I would reluctantly move Bernard on too. 2) Just dont know what plan Carlo has in his head for next season in terms of formation and playing style - hard to see what positions we need to fill until knowing his preferred tactics.
He still hasn't signed a player yet for the first team.

Cisk reacted to Btay in Lucas Digne
Ancelotti is just a different level to anyone we’ve had. Players are on notice - we perform poorly and the players will be at the forefront. No longer do we have that inexperienced manager trying to us to the next level.
Ancelotti is the best thing Moshiri ever did and is the type of manger he thought he was getting with Koeman.
