I'd love her biggest success to be that she remains humble with all the well deserved fame and glory. Pretty sure that's guaranteed listening to her.

Really is the most remarkable rise I can think of ever, in any sport; there have been younger grand slam winners but they were all known more widely than she was (Becker winning Wimbledon unseeded at seventeen springs to mind), until Wimbledon nobody outside of tennis freak circles knew a thing about her.

If it was a film  it'd be dismissed as being totally ridiculous.

Bryson DeChambeau being a dick (unsurprisingly), entering a long hitting contest and saying, "In golf, it's the one thing where you can judge your accomplishments by a number."

Golf, uniquely among sports I think, has a par score for every hole so every round is judged by a number, man's an idiot.

Longest drive for show short game for dough.

Jimmy Greaves dead, such a lovely man. Will watch the Spurs game later though hadn't planned to. Sure there'll be a tribute, what a talent he was.

Indeed, he went through bad times then reinvented as a pundit, Saint and Greavesie was a must watch on ITV late 80s and for my eldest who got into football just before the 90 World Cup.

I've seen worse tackles in football. This looks mistimed but don't think it's malicious, he's just been too slow to react and pull out of the challenge.

Not malicious!?

The full back is clearly lining up a kick and rather than trying to block the kick he goes in for a very high tackle, almost head first.

That is as pre-meditated as it comes and I know this having done a few like that myself! Some opportuties are just too good to miss 😂

Me and my brother were trying to explain Saint and Geavsie to my son earlier, settled on Carragher/Neville but just a hundred times funnier.

What a dick..

...and his maths needs work as well, "Certainly when you've had a baby, you're out nine to 10 months, then you'll take another six months to recover from your body, so therefore it's nearly two years."

Leaving aside the fact that women can still be super-fit in the first few months of pregnancy so the "out for nine to ten months" being bollocks, ten months plus six is nowhere near two years.

Twattenburg strikes again.

Maybe in the dimension where he's not a cunt, it does add up to 2 years.

Newcastle takeover finally happening. My initial reaction was "oh great another team that's going to be consistently pushing for top 6 finishes", but as we've seen with ourselves, money doesn't automatically buy wins.

Ohp! Sorry, didn't see it posted in the Rafa thread!

Done and dusted.

Unlike us, they now have City levels of money, so mistakes won’t be punished as heavily as they were for us.
