I think he's on daft money at Chelsea. They were discussing it on talksport with sky Andrew. Even if he took a 50% pay cut it would be too much for most clubs. Looks like they didn't learn from winston Bogarde. I think he's training with the youth team for a reason, either his attitude stinks, or they are trying to force him to leave.

Quite possibly both. Guess it depends if he already has another contract lined up somewhere or is even interested in getting another one. If he's actually looking for employment after this year then you'd think now would be the time to get back in the shop window, which is definitely something we can offer. We also have a half decent history of bringing in older players on short term deals, finding mutual benefit, and then shipping them on to a longer term contract elsewhere. My guess, if we have any interest in him at all it won't be revealed until the very end of the window as we'll look for younger longer term options first.

Isn't there a law that states any club loaning a player must pay at least 50% of his salary ?

Malouda was shit hot a few seasons ago with loads of goals and loads of assists. Not sure what happened last season, or this, but if he came to us I'd be very happy.

He is on a few quid though.

40 grand a week? He must be on more than that to put off so many clubs? Cahill would cost that for a loan.

Back on to Capoue (kind of) - surely Sissoko who we've watched a few times is a more likely target with him being a free agent in the summer and the club seemingly ready to cash in rather than loose him for nothing.

Agreed cut price deal...

Agreed cut price deal with who?

The guy snubbed us for Liverpool, and has started only 1 match with his current club. I'm not sure it would be a popular move for our fans.

Not the same Sissoko Avin.

The one he's referring to is the one at Toulouse.

The one who snubbed us is Mohamed Sissoko at PSG.

I don't think we were interested Romey.

Every player in the world is linked with us at the moment. Papers know peeps are Googling for Everton a lot so throw our name in the hat for just about everything.

Everton is not even in the top 10 googled prem clubs in the world. Dont over estimate the club. The everton brand is not that impressive in the rest of the world. I know 3-4 peeps tops that support Everton. Check it out for yourself:

I think that search is tainted: Both Liverpool and Newcastle are straight city names, so will get searched for tourism reasons: if you try this it looks a little more healthy:

It is just a fact, we are not as popular around the world as a lot of other premier league clubs. We haven't made enough of the premier leagues global appeal IMO.

Based on RM being a commentator for ESPN, Everton will surely see a noticeable uptake of support from the US. Maybe next summer, the team should plan a US tour.

You are ofcourse correct but we are still below all the others in that comparisson. People always raise an eyebrow in sweden when they find out that im an Everton supporter. (unless they are in their fifties)

Btw, scary that we are below Newcastle UNTIED ;)

My point was that we've been very much in the media spotlight recently, with everything that has gone on from our new badge, to Moyes leaving etc, not to mention the fact that he went to United, meaning we were related to much of their media coverage too, making the opportunity to include Everton's name in any article a beneficial one.

We've had Donovan on loan twice and Howard here for years. Why would a few commentary games from the new manager make a difference when these two guys didn't? We miss many a trick, Landon was a big one IMO.
