Riscon
I heard a lot of things about him when he signed, stuff like he has the potential to be the new Gazza. I can only find one video on youtube showing a sensational goal… With Martinez wanting to give youth a chance, is it too early for him? Steve_E
I don't think he's been invited to training camp in Austria either, so I wouldn't think so. stlouistoffee

Dalziel Kane
He's no younger now than Rooney or Vaughan was when they got to play or were featured, so don't see why Martinez shouldn't give him a try out. Not all up on this name, don't often see what the kids or academy team get up to, but this Green, resembling himself to Rooney, thought a bit fanciful. Here's basically the story on this up and coming player. http://www.evertonfc.com/player-profile/george-green
Guest
From what I know of him he is only small 5 7" or less at the time we signed him hopefully he has shot up by now though

Lionel Messi...dont need any intro...can only be 5'7" at best. We do put too much emphasis on size.

Especially when that fat bastard Beattie was dragging that lard round the pitch week in, week out......... Martinez also had big shoes to fill when he came to Everton. How do the media know Moyes has got bigger feet than him and that Martinez would even want to wear his second-hand boots, in the first place.... Size, age and speed is what the media tell us Brits is important and meaningful..... for everything, not just footy.....

Nicky Milloy Scanlon
My first time on here, hello to you all, I know George well, and see him most weeks, and just to let you all know that he is progressing well. He is small but so is Messi, he is getting much stronger and I would hope to see him progress well under Martinez. Is he Gazza or Rooney ? no he is George Green, and the hype put around him when joined from Bradford is justified, he has a lot of talent, very quick feet, great balance and a left foot to die for, and if he was in a lower division I think he would have made the first team by now. Been in the prem is always going to be much harder to break through, and at the moment Everton have a much stronger squad than when Rooney broke through. The one thing I will say is he does have the ability to be a world beater, go to finch farm and watch him to make your own minds up, he is not the run of the mill 17 year old. I think we may see him at some point this season maybe a cup game, and when you do, sing his name loud and proud to spur him on. I will do my best to keep all you TOFFEES up to date with how he is doing, he is a great young lad with a great talent, keep faith in him, he is a star of the future. Romey 1878
has he been injured at all I was expecting to see him play in the youth cup games,it has been very quiet for him lately.plus no sign of him in Sweden either. He's too small. They're putting him on the wrack this pre-season to stretch him a bit. Matt
Shukes
Youth team? He played for the under 21s against forest. I have read a lot about thsi lad but witnessed little with my own eyes. But from peoples opinions you get the feeling that something special is going on with this lad. even for his small size wasnt he winning headers against guys in thier twentys when he was just 15! I would love to see a few highlights of this guy this season. Who knows maybe even a league cup appearance just to give him some experience? Nicky Milloy Scanlon
Yes he played at forest on Sunday for the under 21's did not have one of his better games, but nor did many of the others, but they will need to get back up to match fitness. He did not go to Sweden he picked a bug up while he was in Austria. I am hoping he will get much more play time this year then you will all get to see what the hype is about, or if he can do at the top level. Sometimes he gets played down the wings but he is best played in the hole which seems to be where he gets played most of the time, small but like I said he is bulking up a bit now and gets stuck in, he wont pull out of a 50/50. I hope you all get to see a lot more of him this season.
Nicky Milloy Scanlon
He is playing for the under 18's today at finch farm against a Nike 11, kick off is 5 pm I think but not too sure so check if you think about going to see. He will also play on Saturday at finch farm for the under 18's, the under 21's have no games and they want him to get match fit that's why he is dropping down, but If it is like last season he will play through a range of age groups. Well hope some of you get to go see him for the first time at one of the games.

Nicky Milloy Scanlon
I think so all I ever do is wave and drive in, so it must be, I only know George am not family but I try watch him as much as i can. I think it was a bit hard out on the pitch this evening for the lads, the side they played were not the best but they seemed to struggle a bit, may be start of season thing. George was very vocal, scored from the spot near the end of the first half, he ran from the half way line when the ref blew for the pen, you could see it was him that was taking it, and no other player so nice to see that he is confident. He also made the second goal after some neat footwork in the box and then laid it off to be fired home, but overall still not at his best he will need to do better to make the big jump up to the first team, but when he is on form he would not look out of place even at his young age, he does not turn 18 until next year so plenty of time. Some other lads looked quite good like the lad from OZ Jake playing at the back, but a this thread is about George so I will stick with that. Sorry forgot to say the lads won 2-1 Edited July 25, 2013 by biglad66

Shukes
Going to be watching this develop carefully. Can't wait to see him in some real action. This hints that maybe RM is ready to add him to the squad on a few occasions next season.
