Work out the odds... you can play 4-5 midfielders in a game but only one keeper at a time. Its such a niche position, its not just talent, its about mentality and maturity to the extent that you need to be so mentally strong. Must be a massive incentive to sign for a club like ours when you're that age and not have that many people in your path, unlike the multitude of defenders, midfielders, strikers we must have. You just can't get them game time with the first team barring injuries or that young keeper being a standout. I mean, what are we going to do? Play Springthorpe over Howard and Joel? Yeah right. Howard's not getting younger, Joel has proven absolutely nothing, and Everton couldn't find so much as a struggling League 2 team that wanted Springthorpe.
