markjazzbassist
They're on a roll 2 wins in a row and a romp against Chelsea. I'm hoping we go at them and it will be wide open, pelligrini doesn't strike me as a park the bus kind guy. Here's what I'd like to see 442 again diamond midfield Howard Coleman stones jags Galloway McCarthy Mirallas Cleverley Barkley Kone Lukaku Would love to see Gerry and Besic get some playing time as subs. MikeO
If both teams play like they did this weekend, the game should be an absolute cracker! My thoughts exactly, was lucky enough to be at the 2-3 game season before last, more of the same (with scores reversed) would suit me fine! Finn balor
want us to go for it. Lukaku if he is on it is the key. city are are playing 4-3-3. id like us not to worry about them but go for there weaknesses. their fullbacks are shite. id play 4-1-4-1 back four picks itself. Cornish Steve
I'd take a point. That's where we differ. I'd rather be on the end of an exciting 6-5 loss than gain a boring 0-0 point. Risk vs reward. He who dares wins (sometimes).

He who dares wins (sometimes). In terms of excitement over the ninety minutes I'd agree with you, as I said I loved the 3-2 game even though we lost (screwing Liverpool softened the blow also). Ultimately though it's about points on the board, if we were to finish fifth on GD we'd look back on games like that and have a little cry. Short term gratification v the bigger picture, know what I'd choose. Romey 1878, Matt and Btay

Us not losing is the minimum we want yet you just want an entertaining game so aren't really arsed about us as long as you get entertained. Why don't you just join a premier league forum instead of posting shite like that. We lost but hey it's ok I was entertained instead of we got a hard earned 0-0 against one of the best teams in the country , stay unbeaten keep the momentum going and have 5 from 9 . MC11
Have to say I hate draws. I'd much rather be entertained each week win one and lose two than draw 3. Same points tally! Only thing is goal difference may take a thumping.... Everton have been draw specialists for too long though!

Losing drains confidence and self belief it's not good for the team, you want unbeaten runs to build moral and team spirit. Beat the teams you're better than and hope for a draw against the better teams at worst. A draw to City and Spurs I would be made up, we may have drawn 3 but we'd be 5 unbeaten. markjazzbassist

markjazzbassist
I've changed my lineup after that Chelsea demolition. Their pace on the attack/wings with Aguero, Navas, and Sterling has me wanting to change my formation to have mccarthy the lone DCM (barry doesn't have the pace). I'd instruct Galloway to focus on defense and not worry about attacking as much due to their pace and his inexperience. Also if they have a weakness I think it's their fullbacks so Mirallas and Gerry are in for me and let's just go high tempo counter attack with all those mids/wings/strikers. HowardColeman stones jags Galloway McCarthy Gerry Barkley Mirallas Kone Lukaku

We would be great going forward but could easily get caught if Gerry and Kev dont defend well.

You have said yourself you follow Martinez not Everton. You can have whatever views you want but anyone who would rather see us lose and it be an entertaining game than draw and it be dull doesn't truely support the tram. I don't understand how you can be happy to get beat as long as you have enjoyed the game, it makes absolutely no sense to me.
