Newty82
I think Koeman has told him to stay wide for as long as he can as he is getting lots of space and its opening the West Brom defence up. Yeah, that also makes sense!

JoeQuince
good save in my opinion Yes, Foster closed the space down almost completely. In other news, Holgate looks like the kind of player who could captain this club someday.
markjazzbassist
First win of the season, well deserved. Holgate, Barry, gana, Mirallas, lukaku, all looked good. RK well done with the subs and formation changes. Bill
Toffee_in_LA
Squeaky bum time those last 10 or so minutes and would have been gutted for Holgate if that handball would have cost us at the end but that was a good turnaround by the lads. Isaiah
75 minutes to break down a Tony Pulis defense twice. This'll be a good chance to see how Koeman is as a tactician. Turns out he's a decent one. Very satisfying result, Pulis is one of the managers I most like to see get beaten.
duncanmckenzieismagic
At the moment I'd say it was more to do with the change of shape than Lukaku himself. Nah we had no focal point at all before Rom came on. Pullis did his homework and they were not giving Gerry any space to run in to and so Olsson had him in his pocket
Hafnia
Thanks for the pm's. Never managed to see any of it but sounds like our manager knows how to change a shape for the better. Sounds like we need to get more ruthless in front of goal. The competition/replacement/partner for Rom is a must.
MC11
Very good result. Thought Holgate played very well again. Very composed on the ball. Mirallas came alive and pressed really hard from the front with a cracking goal!
Guest rusty747
At the moment I would say we are still, very much, a work in progress. But progress is definitely being made. Lots of little partnerships are starting to show themselves - none more so imho than Bolasie and Rom. Holgate looks a better prospect than Stones, Jags put his body on the line, Stekelenburg made a couple of great saves (again) and if Ross and Rom had finished their chances better, 1-4 would not have flattered us. Pleased to see the work rate from Mirallas, and Gana and Barry just do what they do so well. If we can get Kone, a striker and cover at right back before the end of the window we might just surprise people. Something is starting to happen at EFC and it feels very, very good.
