I wouldnt normally give it to a player that gives away a pen but he saved a certain goal and smashed one in from 20 odd yards so he can have it! Proper change of fortunes from Keane. Looking like he was gone to do doing that.

Echo this. Keane 18 months ago would have capitulated, in fact the whole team would have.

Tarks was immense as well. Mcneil worked so hard as well.

Derek Mountfield!
Keano had one of this matches.

Gave away a penalty, took the foul for the sending off, went up and calmly stroked one in! And I say calmly…. Did you see his composure.

This was in between blocks, headers and having another shot over the bar.

Plus an off the line clearance in the first half.

Keane

without doubt and there’s still people want to slag him off

he’s capable of scoring 4/5 goals a season all credit to Dyche bringing him back in.

If he didn’t score that screamer we would be talking about how poor he was in the moment he gave away the penalty.

Always been the issue with him.

For what it’s worth, aside from the penalty he had top game & I hope he continues and perform to the best of his ability.

People want to slag him off because he deserves it....in those specific moments.

Conversely, he deserves all the credit/praise in the world for performances like vs. Spurs (and Palace). It's not just the goal...his defensive work (bar the pen) was also first-rate.

So I'd say give credit where credit is due, but you must also be balanced and criticise when deserved.

All defenders make mistakes but they don’t get the stick Keane gets I’ll accept the mistakes he makes as long as he keeps winning headers at both ends of the pitch and gets the odd goal or 2.

Every player in our team should be called out for egregious mistakes and lauded when they contribute to us winning a game. McNeil gets loads of shit for being one footed but also praise when he scored that goal or when he assists from a set piece. Just because they contribute a goal or two doesn't mean they shouldn't be held accountable...as long as they get the credit with similar amounts of intensity.

keane is a hero right now. And next week we might be calling him a  clumsy fucker. Both things can be true.
