When we actually get ourselves up the pitch we create chances so easily. We just have a midfield (or at least one in Siggy) that is so fundamentally incapable of matching it against the speed and intensity of the opposition. The fact this is even a contest is abysmal, this is the Liverpool academy team, they've got three players that are experienced in the first team and one plays in goal. Three massive chances and all have been woeful. Good saves yes but it's saves that you'd expect a professional goalkeeper to make - the best chance of the game has come from Origi. Bailey Posted January 5, 2020 Report Share Posted January 5, 2020 Despite playing very averagely we have at least created some great chances and it's beggars belief that we haven't put one of them away. DCL is bullying them so I have no idea why we aren't playing more balls up to him. The midfield is struggling but a lot of that is because they are getting outnumbered. Positionally they have done well and I think Schneiderlin has played well too but Siggy looks like an old boy in a 5 a side league. You can see the cogs turning but the body isn't doing what he expects and is being given the run around. Richarlison is again wasted on the left. Sidibe looks like a right back playing right mid (shock). Digne and Coleman have done well although Origi has the better of the latter but I can see a mistake coming from the centre backs. They have been on the cusp and got away with it so far but they will unstuck at some point if they don't wise up. Even though it might not have counted, that was some save from Pickford.
