100% behind him. He said we will see a team that puts in a shift and that’s exactly what they did. Huge start. Keep it up!

Win, draw or lose - If the lads put that effort in I’ve got no issue at all. Very, very good half and we should probably be going in with a lead.
Let’s get back out there and straight in to them. Points for the taking here.

Like James, he's absolute quality. But, unlike when James was here we are an absolute shit show now and we can't afford to carry him. James' quality had opportunities to be shown, but right now I don't feel we'd be able to showcase any quality he has and therefore his lessened work rate would really stand out.

It'll be someone proper shit like Ayew. I'm legitimately not arsed about the window anymore, I'd rather us just not sign anyone than watch the absolute Grade Z shite that's agreed to join us - it'll be the same mould as Rondon or Niasse.

If it was a case of asset stripping then Pickford and Onana would both be gone now.
    It's just pure incompetence.

I keep seeing folks saying this, and I really don't get it. Why does anyone think this squad is better than the ones around us? If so, then why?
Managers aside, most games over the last few years have been pretty bad and have only been getting worse. We don't have that much quality. I understand confidence plays a part in how bad we've been, but at some point we have to admit that this crop is just not that good.
Even if we do survive the drop, we need some major changes to our squad.

That will not save use, like I said, I would rather drag 3-4 U21 players in to the squad and say - 'this is a golden opportunity to force your way in to a senior Premier league squad'.  I would rather see us go down like that, than seeing money wasted on old players teams are trying to offload of their wage bill.

I just hope that Dyche is saying in no uncertain terms that he doesn't want old players at the end of their careers coming anywhere near the club.

To be fair I could be reading too much in to your post. The main reason for down voting is for "people who slot in now" bit.
I associate this with the proven goalscorer, experienced etc.
We are nearly bottom of the league. Any experienced or proven goalscorer is not going to come to us unless
    1) gets injured regularly.
    2) we overpay on wages massively
    3) is old and we'll give a long term contract to them that they cannot get elsewhere.
Or usually all 3 come together.
So Antonio, Ings etc. are all a stay clear of for me.
I would rather have young unproven risk that has the potential of being great vs either proven above or journeyman Premiership averageness ( che Adams, maupey and the like).
The difficulty for me is we don't do it enough at scale to have 1 success for every 2 or 3 failures.

Got ya.  Maybe I should not have used 'slot in'.  Didn't mean EPL experience per se. I meant more like sign someone who has actually found the net in whatever league they are from a few times.  Sulemana has 1 goal.  For the reported fee for him, I think that money would be better spent else where.  Like a Moffi or Gyokeres or Becker or Ndiaye.  But maybe they aren't willing? Just think blowing most of the Gordon money on unproven might be a risk.  Maybe a loan to buy suit better in this situation.
Also, I think our main focus should be a striker.  Would Sulemana play up top for Dyche? Probably not.  Maybe he would provide assists and creativity to the striker?  Not a lot of time to sort it out.  Tomorrow going to be nuts.

I really don’t get the Dyche calls at all. I don’t want him appointed. The only way I’d be happy him getting the job is if it was a straight choice between him and big Sam. He relegated Burnley twice (I’m counting last season) and other than (7th and 10th) his average premier league position is 15th (rounded up). He’s no certainty for our survival.

    £30M plus add on's?
I would be tempted to take the money - it's either that or bumper new contract, and it is not the time for big new contracts.
Gordon is not the difference between us staying up and going down. If we do get Danjuma in, he in theory will be an upgrade for the second half of the season.

I disagree, I think this is a must win.
If we can win this and at West Ham it will move us a decent way up the table and hopefully things will feel a bit more optimistic.
If we pick up 2 points or less from the next two games, safety could feel quite a long way away given the games that follow.

Trigger got a reaction from Bailey in Frank Lampard
I'd love Frank to stay, but I just can't see what progress is being made with the training and "hard work" that is always being referred to?
Taking player individual ability to one side that can be fixed by transfers. Before the break we had many tactical and organisational issues. 3 main attacking ones in my opinion. (Defensively we looked relatively solid before the World Cup - Bournemouth aside).
    1. Generally Moving the ball too slowly moving up the pitch
    2. Midfielders not finding space or making angles to receive the ball when transitioning from defence to attack from the back.
    3. When in the final attacking third of the pitch BEFORE receiving the ball, knowing where the next pass/cross was going to. (so that it was quick, the target player was in sync making a run if needed in order to break down well organised defenses)
While the World Cup was on there were 3 to 4 weeks to practice/train/coach the absolute shit out of this, yet there is no evidence whatsoever that anything like this has been done. There seems to be no apparent change at all!
I don't believe the players we have are all significantly worse than most other lower half of the league teams. Even if you don't have amazingly off the cuff creative players in the final 3rd, you can still run and practice the crap out of range of American Football style "set plays" for breaking down defenses in the final 3rd and run through them so many times until your doing them in your sleep.
Whatever Frank and his team are doing off the pitch with the players, I'm not seeing any kind of change in what the players are doing on it at all. This is what concerns me the most in sticking with him. If he is to stay we need to see evidence of the changes the coaching team are looking to deliver.

Based on that, an absolute tonking would be deserved.

This is what I don't get they had most of the squad to drill attacking patterns into for six weeks and they serve up that?! I wanted Lampard to work as I don't think hiring and firing is taking us forward but he isn't showing enough and his in game management is worryingly bad his tactics poor. Sadly I think unless he can win the next home match he has to go. As for transfers whoever the manager is we need two forwards minimum
