Elston Gunnn got a reaction from Hafnia in Jarrad Branthwaite
You know more about Branthwaite than I do.  For me, I, too, have high hopes, but those hopes come from desperation, not confidence.
My general sense is that for 2 reasons, we’ll have trouble bringing in several starter-quality players: (1) we’ve no money, and (2) promising players think Everton is a disaster, and will be relegated next May.
So, truly, I desperately hope Branthwaite stays and is good enough to partner with Tarkowski.

A forward, a winger, a centre back and a left back. If they are all good enough to start I’d take that with no other signings. Maybe a number two keeper if we can get a free one or a loan.

He's a quality player all around, but more than anything I'm a fan of his steadiness for such a young kid. His composure gives me some comfort that we can withstand the loss of Onana (if he goes, personally I'd rather him stay tho I don't know the financial ramifications) and still look solid in the middle. We've made almost exclusively shit decisions as a club over the past couple years but this is a great find.

I have high hope for Garner this season, and beyond. I think he has the potential to become a really important player for us.
He has not come with the same hype or price tag as Onana, but I am liking what I have seen so far. Other than a couple of cameo's for Utd when he was a teenager, this has really be his debut in the Premier League and it looks as if it a level he will be comfortable at. He came in to the team proper at a really tough time and just got on with it.

I’m too ignorant of offering/buying/selling prices in Europe and the EPL, but I do think just on potential he’s definitely worth keeping.  For we’re in dire shape at the back, have let Coady go, and no one has much faith in Keane or Holgate, and precious little in Godfrey.  And with the financial mess we’re in — and more broadly the embarrassing mess the club has become — I’ve little confidence that we’ll attract a solid starting partner for Tarkowski.
So Branthwaite’s “worth” more to Everton, just at this moment, than he’s probably “worth.”  We need to keep him, either play him or loan him.

Mate I completely agree, it’s the naive love for everton that makes me think it will be different.
I always wonder how people stay in relationships when their partners treat them like shit and then I remember that’s pretty much my relationship with Everton…

I think most, like myself, would just like him to be given a chance so we can we see if he can be a player for us.

The problem when he is in the middle is that every single time he gives the ball away we seem to concede.
He runs himself into blind alleys regardless of where he is on the pitch. But when he’s out wide the ball tends to go out for a throw in or goal kick, when he does it in the middle we are massively exposed to the counter.
It’s very much risk and reward with him, unfortunately the risk when he’s in the middle is too high and the reward out wide isn’t high enough.

We could use Gray's saved wages to give Davies more so he will definitely sign that contract.
    Win win.

Just seen this as his new song!

To the tune of That's Amore.
When the ball hits the net and you've just lost your bet that's Doucoure.
When the Leicester boys frown cos with Leeds they are down that's Doucoure.
When the red shite wet dream of Everton goin down is no moreay.
Thats tough shit cos there's a man we love
    And his name is Doucoure.

With his pace having gone I'm not sure there's a spot for him at CB now.
Before, he could have got in to partner a slow CB so he could have the quality they lacked and they could cover for his lack of positional awareness by hand holding him through games.
I think he had a lot of promise when we signed him but I just don't know if he'll have a future here. We'll see I suppose.

I think he genuinely loves the club, or at least the life that being with Everton affords him.
I've worked at the Champions League type companies; better pay, more fashionable on the CV. But I was miserable to the point it nearly killed me. Now I'm in a company that challenges for Europe regularly and has the potential to be a massive name and I'm happy because of the culture here. Its not the best paid, its not the sexiest name for the CV. It is supportive, flexible and I work happy, healthier and respected. That's worth well more than a bit more money and limelight, and my family and friends agree.

How did Holgate manage to secure himself 70k a week, it’s fucking embarrassing the amount of money we’ve been lavishing on some players, he wouldn’t be offered anywhere near that anywhere else. It really fucking annoys me how wasteful this club has been.

Put it this way, I hope Branthwaite is given a go to prove himself and takes his chance and cements his place as a first choice CB alongside Tarkowski.
I don't want to see Coady playing often at all. I remember when I kept hearing Townsend would just be a filler signing!

I suppose I have to have at least one of our defenders that drives me mad. Except this one will stay fit and I'll have to deal with it more often .

He's good filler at that price and money will be hard to find which needs spending up front.

I’m on a plane from Perth to brisbane now - absolute nervous wreck. Land at midnight and the game is at 1:30am. The missus is picking me up from the airport & she’s going to watch the game with me. We’ve been together for a few months and I really don’t think she knows the range of emotions she might see here…
Hope everyone is doing well today 💙

Yes, this worries me, too.  Our players, as much as the referee, need to play with enormous energy every moment, BUT not recklessly.  No yellow cards — unless to stop a Bournemouth breakaway — in the first half.  Also worry about ghastly mistakes in midfield, giveaways.
Want to see fierce commitment from the opening whistle.  And no fierce stupidity.

The game plan should be - every single ball is contested with maximum intensity, we chase, we close, we show for a pass, we run twice as hard as Bournemouth and mentally let them know that they are in for a long afternoon.

If on a hot day with nothing to play for,  against a team who is fighting for their lives bornemouth outperform us then I will be angry beyond comprehension

Yes, I want Leicester to lose.  But the single most important thing is that Leicester not win.  A draw keeps it in our hands.  If we can’t beat Bournemouth on the final day, with relegation at stake........
