Anyone fancy a meet up? I will be going for the pre-game mania then to the nearest toilet for the game so I can vomit freely.

If I can get a ticket, I'll be there.

Looked yesterday, no chance.

Not sure why I've left it so late to think about 🙈

I'm going anyway, I don't have work in the way making me travel this time.

If Leicester lose today then we will only need a draw against Bournemouth unless Leeds can beat Spurs by 3 goals. As strange as this may sound I would much prefer that we needed to win to guarantee safety, I just think psychologically thinking that a draw will be enough could take the edge off our game which could give Bournemouth the upper hand. In my head we need to go out there all guns blazing for the win and don’t let them get into their stride, but knowing we may only need a draw could effect our mentality and we drop into defensive mindset which would be 90 minutes of pure hell hiding 🙈 my eyes behind my hands. I definitely believe we have what is required to beat Bournemouth and we are going to win, just need all the players and fans to feel the same and the strength in our belief will see us winning.

I do also think there's going to be some extra motivation to put right the back to back embarrassing defeats against them earlier in the season. Obviously the big motivator should be survival, but it doesn't hurt to have that added layer in there

How about:

Dyche (as Aragorn): 'Right, lads. I see in your eyes the same fear of relegation that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Evertonians fails, when we forsake our fans and break all bonds of fellowship with them, but it is not this day. An hour of Wolves and shitting the bed when the age of Everton comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good turf, I bid you stand and play Bournemouth, Men of the North West!'

An early goal will be huge.

Hopefully Mykolenko and DCL will be back to feature, the latter fingers crossed will be fit for a start. I know we've been guilty of rushing him back, but I think for this game we have to take the risk.

Watching the game last night had me like I was watching Everton, celebrating everything that went Newcastle's way. How they didn't win is beyond me. Fortunately our hopes are pinned on a home game, I would be very concerned if we were away.

I'm really not looking forward to this weekend, going to be anxious all the way up to Sunday evening. Everything is crossed we have something to celebrate at the end of it.

I'm fairly certain either of Leeds or Leicester, maybe both, will win their games on Sunday. It's their last chance and they are facing tired West Ham side and freefalling Tottenham. It's a must win at all cost for us.

If we win, we stay up,

But if we draw, Leicester don't win and Leeds lose, draw or even win by less than 3 goals, we also stay up.

Maybe all three teams will have the same result (win, lose or draw) and we would also stay up. We can also afford to lose and have the other teams draw.

But I prefer Romey's suggestion:

"fucking win"

The only thing we need to do is win, regardless of what anyone else does, that has to be our aim. i don't want to be looking at any other results, its in our hands.

This.

Anything but a win and our game could finish whilst the other two are in stoppage time and a late goal could scupper any perceived survival.

The big question is where will Michael Keane start? Will it be One if two CB’s, one of three CB’s, RB, LB or CF?

CF at this rate.

So, it looks almost certain now that DCL, Mykolenko and Patterson will be unfit.

I think a 3-5-2 represents best utilisation of our fit and available playing resources.

                            Pickford

                 Mina  Tarkowski  Coady

     Iwobi  Doucoure  Gueye  Garner  McNeil

                           Simms  Gray

Alternatively: 3-1-4-1-1

                                     Pickford

                           Mina Tarkowski  Coady

                                       Gueye

                        Iwobi Garner  Onana  McNeil

                                      Doucoure

                                        Simms

Having re read the article, it basically says 'he may miss the game - or he may be fit!' - which makes the article worthless. Fingers crossed.

Well he's back in training so I think it's more likely he plays than not.

The 3-5-2 option looks the best to me.

Very worried Dyche will play Maupay, though.

I'm annoyingly going to be in the air from just before kick off, landing just after final whistle. Probably for the best 🤮

I'm gonna be unavailable from kickoff and then for the next 6 hours, so will be coming home and watching after that. A horrible way to spend a Sunday afternoon

    Quote

    • Bournemouth have won their past three Premier League games against Everton, netting exactly three goals each time. They had only won two of their first eight against them in the competition (D2 L4).

    • Dwight McNeil is Everton's top Premier League goalscorer this season with seven goals. As it stands, it's the Toffees' lowest scoring top scorer in a single campaign since 2001-02 (Duncan Ferguson and Tomasz Radzinski with six).

    • Everton have picked up 18 points in their 17 Premier League games under Sean Dyche (1.1 per game), compared to 15 points in 20 games under Frank Lampard this season (0.8 per game).

I’ve looked into the Bournemouth squad hoping to see that they are home grown and therefore have an immense dislike of Leeds. It’s not healthy all this.

if we had dcl fit I would feel confident

This game can’t be on Dyche he can only pick the team that’s available and ask the players if they are ready and up for it, some will possibly be asked to play out of position not the fault of the manager but the effect of the circumstances he finds himself in. When Dyche asks the players are you up for the huge challenge and responsibility involved in this game, and they reply yes god they better mean it. Saturday will be the day of reckoning no second chances after this, we will witness for ourselves those who apply themselves and those who don’t, win or lose this won’t be down to Dyche but to the players who have accepted the challenge, what Dyche can do in game time is to react positively against those who aren’t doing the business. I trust and believe everyone of them understands how huge this day is for the club, and when they walk off the pitch at the end of the game, they have given all they can and haven’t left anything out there in their efforts to win the game, and that is all we can ask for.
I can’t wait for this game to kick off it’s time to walk the walk and I’m confident that we will prevail and will be playing PL football next season.

My concern, rather oddly, concerns how we line up if Mykolenko is fit. If Mykolenko is fit and starts at Left Back in a flat back four, who starts at Right Back?

I think there is a case for making the decision early to start with a back three, Iwobi and McNeil as Wing Backs and Mykolenko on the bench. Something like: 3-5-2

                          Pickford

                   Mina  Tarkowski  Coady

     Iwobi  Doucoure  Gueye  Garner  McNeil

                         Simms  Gray

The more I think about it the more I think you're right. If we have a back 3 I think Dyche will play a midfield 5, if that's the case, Mykolenko doesn't fit in as McNeil will be in the left spot.

A 4 could be possible with Keane/Holgate at RB but that doesn't excite me.

Whatever the set up, it's a bit bare bones and the game will be a challenge, Dyche will have to get it spot on tactically, the players will have to be up for it and add the 12th man that is goodison to the equation and hopefully we can make it over the line.

I think Haf mentioned the Bournemouth lads might already be on their holidays, I hope that's the case.

I'm praying for an early goal to settle the nerves.

I would go back 3, it’s the only formation that allows the players to be in their best roles - specifically Coady. Don’t want any square pegs in round holes, a flat back 4 doesn’t give us confidence in the stand ins.

if we do this we need the wide midfielders and DMs to be absolutely on point.

Coady should be a source of springing attacks with deep balls, with gray and simms with doucs supporting we could see us really get at Bournemouth

It’s nearly here.

The day when we need 12 Hero’s to turn up and do is proud.
Forget about all the noise for 90 minutes and create a cauldron for them.
Wear out badges with pride, sing u til our voices cannot cope with another note, and we will celebrate like we’ve won the Champions league final.

This is our final! There is no more important match in the world for us, it begins and ends with this one match.
We will fight for our lives, and whatever happens…. It happens together! As a family and as the greatest club in history.

Time to shine boys.
COYBs!!!!

To be fair, they're daft and repetitive questions. He's probably just bored.

I think the journos are just asking questions most fans want answered even if it's obvious no manager would answer them directly.

I think Dyche needs to realise media work is actually part of his job even if he doesn't like it or see the value in it.

He can be as prickly as he likes with the press as long as he gets results.

Martinez and Lampard were lovely with the press but were poor managers.

the reality is though is he's prickly and has the same results (or slightly worse) than lampard at the same point in time.

ultimately there's no correlation between our managers, their attitude in press conferences and our results.

We've generally had a bunch of mediocre managers for decades
