Expecting absolutely nothing out of this. If I've learned one thing from supporting this club, it's to set the bar low.

Let's look at it realistically. We've spent fuck all on transfers in the past three years - net transfer spend of -75m. There's only one other team with negative transfer spending, and that's Brighton. While we do have some good players and occasionally get lucky patches, the reality is that we aren't very good as a team, and our players aren't consistently performing well. Dyche does a good job of getting the best out of them, but sometimes he fails, or rather the players fail him. Anyway, we are where we are with our current squad in bad form. It is clear as day that we need a significant investment if we are to become competitive.

Alex Crook on TalkSPORT saying that 80% of the Premier League are on the edge of a breach. 16 out of 20 clubs!
The transfer window shows whats going on. Clubs are now scared to spend. What happens here is we now don’t get as many of the worlds best players coming here. The league ends up devaluing itself by its actions. But wait, they see this happening. So they have already got plans in place to change the rules to make sure that doesn’t happen. So when they change the rules City and Chelsea are ok, so they can carry on spending £100m on a player. During that time the damage has already been done to Everton and Forest. If I wasn’t so annoyed I’d be laughing.

He definitely should have put that chance away in the first half but the fact is that he's an infinitely better option than Beto in our side because his all round game is on a completely different level. Our play completely falls apart with Beto up front because he is terrible at winning the ball and holding the ball up. For a big lad that is a crap footballer he really doesn't put himself about enough for me.
It's not hard to see that he came to professional football late.

Known him on TT for the best part of two decades, I disagreed with him pretty much for two decades. I know I had a lot of respect for him and he will be missed by a lot of people here on TT
Bill made as big a contribution to this place as anyone over the years. He’s a major part of what TT is today and for that I’m grateful.

Condolences to Patto and the rest of your family.

    Rest easy Bill.

The other FA cup games this weekend without it were spectacular. And guess what no one was screaming like a maniac about any of the decisions the next day. The beauty of sport is the shared experience and part of that is an understanding human error will happen with a game played at this pace. I've said from the very beginning if VAR is going to exist it should only do so at full speed. Have as many angles as you want but if you need to slow it down to make a decision you've lost already. It also greatly reduces the quality of the officiating because they have a crutch for all crucial decisions instead of relying on their training.
VAR is destroying the sport, more so than FFP, full stop.

What I thought about the incident is that it's a soft foul that can go either way and if it had been given on the pitch at the time then you'd have no complaints really, but the ref and linesman thought it was ok so once that's happened I don't see how VAR can say that's a clear and obvious error. That type of foul is all about how you perceive it and opinions.

I thought we were comfortably the better side for the 90 minutes. We let ourselves down with some poor defending and poor finishing the other end.
Performances like today make me believe even more that we'll win a fair few more games this season. We're a good side and we played some lovely football today as well, which isn't something we've done a lot of.
We may very well lose 2 in a row with City coming up next, but it's important not to overreact to that or the loss today because we're very much heading in the right direction.
