I can’t get my head round how much we’ve neglected such a key position… look at Palace - they’ve just let Benteke go (wouldn’t want him but probably better than our only fit striker) and still have Eduard and Mateta on the bench behind Zaha, with Plange (young lad from Derby) a decent option too. We have DCL and Rondon - nothing else. We need to sign 1 player who can really challenge DCL for the spot e.g Broja/Watkins (doubt it) and one average but reliable Adams/ Maupay type who will be able to change games from the bench and fill in without having to compensate elsewhere over the course of the season. Che Adams came off the bench today for Southampton and scored 2; meanwhile we threw Dwight McNeil up front as we had no other options.

While I agree that Rondon is extremely limited in his capabilities and should be a third choice striker, there were a handful of times he either headed or chested down the ball perfectly for someone to run on to.
So while he did only create the one chance for himself (which was about 2 feet from going in), he created a few for others

Rondon looks like one of those lumbering old Heavyweight boxers that Tyson used to destroy within 2 rounds in the 1980s.

But this is a different mission in a instead of wanting a player out and then not wanting him to return,  I wanted a player kept in who could have done a job for us whilst we were trying to secure a new forward. I’m like Captain Kirk I love a good mission and will battle till my mission is complete😂

Even if Gana doesn't return we have Palf on another mission 😁

By sheer coincidence on our April trip our last game was Fulham-Coventry at the Cottage. Like others have said he's playing in the Championship so who knows about the step up but what I'll say is he was the best player on the pitch that day by miles. I had never heard of him before and left incredibly impressed.
Simms can't help us until next year. 
Exactly this. We need someone young and hungry to fight for first choice and not pout when they're on the bench. I'd expect a lad with this pedigree to be exactly that.

No issue with us going after players like this. DCL is first choice, so whoever we buy or loan will have to be happy playing back up. We won’t be bringing in anyone good enough to be first choice, so rather someone hungry to take an opportunity like this lad.
