A left footed left winger as well. Maybe the plan is to have him cutting in from the right (if we’re actually linked to him). I definitely don’t see McNeil playing anywhere other than the left of midfield from now on, after our attempts to force him onto the right wing last season. 

He can play anywhere across midfield or attack supposedly. We’re getting linked to wingers as we need at least 1 more - McNeil, Iwobi and Danjuma isn’t enough with Gray likely to leave. We probably need 2.

He'll get plenty of minutes for us in the Championship next year.

Seems a few like Bielsa, but my fear with him is he has a very specify style of play, which is pretty unique to him. He also expects players to simply slot in to his style, rather than work around the attributes of the players he has available
Do we really need another year trying to get the player playing another style.
I would like to see us make a move for Lee Carsley.
I think he would work well with Thelwall developing a young team and want to play possession football. He will have his finger on the pulse of the best young talent around.
He is not a glamour big name signing, but he is very well respected as a coach and this is what we need. He has done very good things with England U21's.
In January last year the club made a choice to bring in a young 'modern' manager who wanted to developed a team that would play on the front foot. I feel we need to stick to this plan, whereever it takes us in the short term.

I would take him ahead of both Rooney and Ferguson as an Everton old boy. He will understand the passion needed to put on a blue shirt and will know what we demand as fans. 

there really is a lack of any sort of patience with new players and a new team trying to develop together. Progress is not going to be a steady always upward curve over a dozen or so games. 
There have been some improved performances and there have been some poor performances. What you hope to see is a steading increase in good performance and decrease in the poor performances. The nature of a rebuild it you are going to get more bad than good at the beginning. This is going to be both for individuals and team performances. 
The scary part is that the Premiership, now more than every, is very unforgiving to teams in a rebuild phase, especially when you are building off a very poor base. We just need to try and hold our nerve a bit, and not get panicked by a bad run of results and form.

He just had a poor game, it happens, especially with young players. He found it hard to get into the game as everything went through Grey, who played very well.
I'm sure Frank, Coady and the squad know how to handle it, and I think being subbed was the right thing.
If we could hold off on the pitchfork and dunking instincts for a bit, and see it for what it was, a bad game, that would be nice.
