Proper team performance from every player, Pickford gets my vote as he kept us in the game when they put the pressure on.

Maupay - when you consider he was making his debut, in the derby, and lacking fitness, he did really well to act as that focal point.  At some point the commentator said he had had 5 shots on goal in the match.  Something he had never done in a Brighton match.

Play like that every match with a reborn DCL and I think we'll be just fine 😁

I wanted so much to give it to Patterson he was top draw, but I would consider myself dishonest if I didn’t give it to Pickford he kept us in the game with a string of saves and 1 or 2 worldies.

Was blatantly obvious to anyone open minded/open eyed that this guy left a gapping hole in our team when he left.
I didn't/don't expect as much from him now he's 32 but that display today was so much more than I expected.
    Superb.

All the players on the pitch today did really well, especially Pickford, Patterson and Iowbi.

Amazing performance and character - you can start to see what the plan is and how all these pieces fit together.  Growth.

Myko hasn't been perfect but he's kept Salah quiet

Best Davies has looked in a while. All of a sudden our midfield is our strongest area in terms of depth

I wish him well, comes across as a decent bloke, but he needed to go, after his 45 mins against Palace there was no chance he should ever turn out for us again.

Ref is bell end, won't give us change on anything, can't wait to penalise us.

He was kept out of squads when fit, he literally allowed palace players to jog past him and lampard left him out for weeks. He played the worst game ever in a must win vs Southampton and was dropped again and not included in the squad.

The whole bollocks that sons injury was the downfall is nonsense, look at the posts going back to 2018, 2 pages of people like myself and other genuinely concerned that a talented player could look so shit.  Talented talented player but absolutely no guts or desire.

Given the next window isn’t that many games away I think it makes sense to find the player and the deal you want. We’ve had too many costly misses lately.

Correct, and saying I am a wool as well, or plastic scouser as some like to call it 😎

FM said ‘judge us at end of window’
To be fair I think FL & KT have done very well, some of the deals (as reported) seem incredible bits of business on face value.
We haven’t bought ageing players for stupid wages, we’ve moved out plenty of players, or at least tried to in some cases too.
Players in, on the whole, are of ‘a good age’ but everyone seems to have a particular set of traits too.
Willingness to work hard, and all appear to have good ‘characters’
An extra forward would’ve been great, but even that seems we were either waiting for Broja (?) or the alternatives didn’t tick enough boxes to make them viable.
So we passed and didn’t risk another Niasse, Sandro, Tosun et al
Next 2 games are shite, and not far a write off, BUT I’m feeling optimistic about the season now.
I’m also convinced we’ll go on a run after that, which bumps us up the table into the safe zone of mid-table obscurity.
    Finally a transfer plan.
    Finally proper due diligence.
Finally something to be excited about.

Garner seemed to drag on a fair bit which suggests we didn’t just throw money at him. Likely been put on a solid structure and performance related.

Gomes going is huge,  I’m not saying he was disruptive - far from it. But imagine being in finch farm and watching a bloke go through the motions and be happy to sit on the bench for £100k a week.  Stuff like that seeps into the players and creates resentment.  Lampard clearly wants a competitive group of players.

I hope he has a cracking season with them. Comes across as a really decent bloke, but just don't quite think he suits the Premier league.
