Not sure he can take any more credit than usual. His saving grace has been his willingness to put his hand in his pocket. The question for me is are these his signings or not. But I'm quietly optimistic that they're not and he may have finally learnt. Maybe.

If they aren’t it’s because he’s allowed the football people to make these decisions. That should have always been the case but it’s still learning from one’s mistakes which should be acknowledged.

The difference now is the footballing people at the club seem to be spending his money. Before, he spent it himself with a little help from Kia Joorabchian (spelling). Now we have a plan, not just an agent rinsing the club.

I've seen a bit of Villareal and what I've seen of him, he's a real live wire. Direct, tricky, pacey. As with any winger he has a tendency to drift in and out of games, but the potential is there for him to be an excellent addition.
Quietly excited about this if true

Shows you what they think of him. We lost Gerry D to a buyback which I’m still bitter about.

That’s the system they knowingly signed up for. As you point out they are obscenely paid for the privilege. I get that it’s difficult for them and their families to move like that but it’s their choice to play these sports. Go be an accountant if you don’t like it. The difference is these are leagues with 32 teams or less. If players could just decide they will never be traded to certain markets the parity gal would grow hugely and you’d get something like the Premier League where half the league or more has realistically no chance at ever winning a title. We also have drafts here that try to balance things a bit more. Pros and Cons to both systems but having a league worth more parity where every team has a chance to build themselves  into a perennial winner is preferable to me.

Gueye should really help in this regard one would think. I’d have to imagine we play all 3 at once but I suppose we will see shortly.

I wouldn’t want to get rid of Doucoure. He’s not a superstar but a really solid box to box premier league starter for most clubs. The rest I agree with though I think Allan or Davies should stay for depth this season.

Yeah it’s done for this window. If he keeps on as he has started all parties will have the same opportunity next summer. It’s also just better for Anthony to play regularly than get 10 min off Chelsea’s bench now and then.

He’s a very impressive young man - think he’ll be an incredible signing!

Onana and Patterson are making errors but you can see they are going to be really quality players. Went with Gordon today for his energy, competitiveness and a well taken goal.

I would have thought the plan was to sell Mina or Keane before the injuries. Given how they were used so far Keane might have been the one slated to leave.

Free on modest wages would make sense. But I’m the same, I don’t think it would be right for the club and supporters.

Yeah he has some moments for sure. Was it him that played that clever little ball that gave the chance Gray fumbled?

I’m hoping the inconsistency is just him being a young player who was physically slight and so couldn’t always provide that energy for 90 minutes. I’m hoping that is changing as he matures.

He’s been caught out now and then but you’d expect that at his age and experience. Some good aggressive defending  and a willingness to get forward. Of Patterson and Myko I think Patterson has the higher ceiling.

If he did as well every match as he did today I would start to believe he could be worth that. Hopefully we see that desire if he stays.

Gordon. Showing why we’re happy to turn down 60m. May have not had everything come off for him today, but he lead by example.
My biggest criticism is his work rate, but I thought he stepped that up today.
