A proper CF in the mould of the greatest this country as ever produced, all these multi million pound CH from around the globe don’t know how to handle him, they’ve never met players with the power and intensity that DCL possess.

I’d play the same again even if James was fit. We were so much better organised without him and still a threat. James can come on if we’re chasing the game but I’d rather keep the consistency and structure, at least to start the game.

Have to say, warms my heart seeing 7 different players receiving votes. Shows what a true team performance it was today

Some player on our hands here guys. You can see he’s starting to feel part of the group.

Has he been playing for someone else?

If by God you mean very talented but frustratingly inconsistent enigma, then yes he is.
But he did play very well tonight, agree with Matt he looked very tired in the last 30 mins but his work rate was impressive. We just hope he can keep this level up.

Mark, everyone knows what Gylfi is capable - which is why people get frustrated with him.

It’s solely up to him and him alone to perform at those levels

He’s obviously had a lot on in his personal life so delighted to see him have a positive impact like he did tonight.

Very impressive. Really worked hard for the team, he didn't hide or shirk any responsibilities and was good in an attacking sense as well.

He was a monster tonight. He may not have added to his goal tally but what a perfect centre forward performance that was.
    My number 9.

    Frank Lampard.
When your defending against one of the best, if not THE best strikers in the league for heading and holding up.
Do we need to say more?

Proved the importance of a striker who isn't measured on goals alone.
Great performance, bullied a class centre half... £100m wouldn't buy him.

Great post in the echo on James and his form.
Detailing exactly what I have been saying recently.

Can’t work out how to link it haha. But one stat... in the last three games he has been credited with 14 shot creating passes.
Three short from the 17 he created in the first three games....... that’s how bad he has been recently.
The article explains how short sighted it is to base form on assists, as an assist is relying on the prowess of the finisher. Take Gylfi and his chance as a great example of this.

Put him in the box, feed him the ball in the area, he'll score. Simple as that.
Goals win games and he's scoring goals. It's why I love him playing for us and why I loved Lukaku and Yak playing for us. Strikers can do fuck all else for all I care.

Yeh he was definitely RCB in a 5 with Iwobi as the RWB.
Personally I think he will make the same naive mistakes in a traditional CB position.
He is just rough around the edges and needs time to learn and develop. It feels to me that his physical and technical ability has got him to this level and he just needs to learn how to defend a bit better. I'm sure it will come.

looking at the glass half full, moshiri will realize how much he needs to spend to have quality bench to rotate and help with injuries.  maybe we even see something come january
