How can they pose with the dead animals afterwards like they're proud of killing an animal that didn't even know they were part of the game? They shoot them from a safe distance so there's fuck all risk to them and then pose for a photo like they did something great? Fuck that. I'd like to see them get up close with a lion and try and kill them then. I'd pay money to watch that. I once saw a woman posing with a giraffe she'd killed. A fucking giraffe! What exactly was the challenge in that? People use the insult of "you're like an animal", but humans are worse than animals. Much worse. My father took me and my brother to see his grandfather, the only time we ever saw him. This was in about 1947. During our visit, great grandfather asked us which team we supported. As football had started again after the war we had already been to see Everton and we told him that we were 'blue's'. He said 'good' and then went to a draw and took out a grubby white stiff collar, the type that were fastened with a stud. He laid it out on the table and said 'this collar has the autographs of the whole Everton team who won the cup in 1933'. I remember he showed us Dixie Dean's autograph and he allowed me to touch it. The hairs stood up on the back of my neck. We never went again and that was the only time we ever saw him. He died the following year aged 88. I wish he'd have given us the collar with the autographs on, would be worth a bit now! Great Grandfathers name was Charles Henesy born 1860 died 1948. He was a bookbinder and worked for Rockliffe's Printers all his life. Rockliffe's are still going in Long Lane. He told us that he was invited to the party that was held in Liverpool to celebrate the cup win. Don't know what his connection with the club was.
