StevO
I hate the guy, and he hates us, but I think he would probably be the best candidate in terms of running a large, and hopefully clean, football organisation already.
Louis
Platini is a terrible candidate, in my opinion.
Hafnia
I think it's clearthat platini does hate England. It possibly stems from Heysel is my guess.

Cornish Steve
Days like this mike restores faith in humanity. It doesn't for me. I'd prefer to see real criminals go to real jails and not get away with it. Sepp Blatter will never go to jail. The average Joe doesn't live in the same world as these privileged hypocrites. johnh
Agreed. Whatever the crime, the top people survive and the foot soldiers do the time. eg phone hacking.
MikeO
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34468663 "It is also examining a payment of two million Swiss francs (£1.35m) that Platini received in 2011 for working for Blatter. He claims it was "valid compensation" for work carried out more than nine years previously." You seriously expect people to believe that? I've heard of working a week in hand; I've worked a month in hand. I've worked for companies where good customers had terms of up to ninety days to pay for services rendered! But nine years? Hafnia
Platini suspended as well now. Good - didn't he vote for Russia/Qatar on the influence of sarkozy?
johnh
The payment by Blatter to Platini was so obviously a bribe to Platini so that he wouldn't stand against Blatter at the last Presidential vote. I am hoping that they were so arrogant that they didn't even bother covering their tracks. There should be an audit trail and it would appear that whoever instigated the suspensions has found it. I'd take that with a pinch of salt personally. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34540522 They're just giving it the "innocent until proven guilty" line while preparing backstage for the guilty verdict to be confirmed. markjazzbassist
