Hafnia
Apart from not being dead . You catch my drift, it's like he was formed from the frustrtations of Evertonians, he has his finger right on the pulse. I have found it difficult to pick any faults with him so far, really I haven't got anythingwhich is rare for me. His subs are just perfection, tactics, press interviews, motivation, respect... he is awesome.

That is exactly my thinking as well, don't want to be a pessimist but managers have rocky patches through the season. West Brom are in one at the moment but will be interesting to see how they come out of it. Also United they are struggling but being champions and they should bounce back. We are full of confidence at the moment though.

Played 33, won 7, drawn 10, lost 16.....thirty-one points from thirty-three games; solid gold relegation form.

It's still early days and how he responds to his first difficult patch will be interesting. He did several times at Wigan - when a team with no depth hit terrible luck with injuries. What happened the season before last? They saved themselves at the end of the season by beating almost all of the top teams. Even when counted out by everyone, his team bounced back. Even last season, they would probably have survived if the FA Cap had been played at the end of the season instead of with critical games left to play. Shukes
Arsenal looked like a team that knew they were in a game yesterday, can't explain how proud I am to be a blue. This is what I expect from an Everton team - this! What I feel now is the closest to 1984... For all of you who thought that I undervalued Moyes, I didn't I had him valued for what he was, its just unfortunate that too many thought that what we are seeing now was not possible with the right tactician. Moyes built a ferrari - he just didnt know how to drive the thing. Martinez is like Ayrton Senna. Thats made me chuckle! First even i had to admit that i thought " Damn Haf you have still managed to mention DM " But then after i read the anology it all made sense. Though if RM tunrs out anywhere near to the top as Senna did then i look forward to playing a south American team in the world club championship final in the next few years! Bring on Flemengos or whatever they are haha!
Hoof_It_Nev
Why aren't the highlights available in the UK yet? "Highlights are available as soon as competition rules allow. For weekend Premier League games (Saturday or Sunday) this is midnight on the day of the game in the EU. Highlights are available worldwide from 10pm on the day after a weekend (Saturday or Sunday) fixture has been played."

GoodisonRoad
Walcott wasn't offside....he looked it but if you slow it down you can see he's level. No idea where he thinks ours was off :dont know:. Just watched it again, think your right. Can't stand Arsenal or Wenger. Especially when he comes up with shit like this..... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2520433/Arsene-Wenger-angry-Everton-equaliser-Arsenal.html
Popular Post Romey 1878
For about the first 40 minutes of this game I was absolutely blown away by the football on show... our football. Arsenal weren't even in the game and we schooled them for that period. It's got to be the most fluent we've been all season, it all came together flawlessly. It was amazing to see how confident we were with the ball and how we played with a swagger and an arrogance. I felt like ole'ing after 15 minutes. I was giddy like a child. We kept the ball amazingly well and moved Arsenal around the pitch effortlessly. On the few occasions we gave the ball away we swarmed them and forced them to give the ball back to us, or just took it off them. We oozed class on the ball and were full of energy when we didn't have it. I don't think I've seen Arsenal look that uncomfortable this season. They were totally rattled and didn't have a clue how to combat us and were getting more and more frustrated as time went on. So much so that they resorted to kicking us and giving away niggling fouls to try and break our pattern of play. Arteta being the main culprit. So if Wenger wants to moan about rough play then he needs to look at his own players first and foremost. We utterly controlled things and looked like the home side, the only thing that was missing was the final ball; we lacked that killer instinct when we got close to their goal. Having played the same 11 on Wednesday it wasn't a surprise that we tailed off towards the end of the half and then Arsenal cut us open two or three times and actually had the best chances of the half and we ended up being lucky to go in on level terms. Second half was a totally different game. For probably the first 20-25 minutes of the half Arsenal had us under massive pressure and we needed to weather the storm. I thought we did that brilliantly though; Howard, Jags, Distin, McCarthy and Barry put in monumental performances to make sure of that. I think in a defensive capacity we’re finally getting to grips with the way Martinez wants us to play. It’s been slower than understanding the attacking aspect, but it’s getting there now. We slowly got ourselves back in the game as an attacking force; mainly on the counter attack and that gave us more of a share of the play while allowing our players a bit of a breather. In fact, we actually started getting back to controlling the play. So it was a bit of a sucker punch when they got their goal because we were looking strong. I honestly felt that that was the end of us. Perhaps in the past it would have been, but this side is a different animal and they just said “alright, let’s go again”. We didn’t allow Arsenal to press their advantage whatsoever, we carried on pushing forward. It only took us four minutes to get back on level terms and what a goal it was too. In this case I’m glad Deulofeu was “greedy”. He did exactly what he should have done against United and put his foot through the ball, which shows that he is learning! Even though Arsenal had the best chance to win the game right at the end I don’t think they really responded to us equalising and it was us that were still pushing for the winner. We went to the league leaders and a point is the least we deserved; a defeat would have been a travesty. We came out of that game with more possession than them (how many times will that happen to Arsenal at home?!), more shots at goal than them, and they committed more fouls than we did against them. I can’t put into words just how proud I am of how we played. I’d have been just as proud of the performance if we’d have lost; I’ve always said that I’d accept defeat against the big boys if we had a go. It’s going and sitting back and losing anyway that hurt and pissed me off. There was none of that last night though; we went toe to toe with them and bettered them for much of the game. Martinez has breathed new life into this football club. He’s a brought a culture of no fear. No backward steps. We don’t play sides on reputation, now it’s a case of “if you want to beat us then you better bring you’re A game, because we’re building our own reputation and we will shit on you from a great height because we are Everton Football Club”. He’s brought pride and belief. VIVA ROBERTO! Howard – Another top quality performance from him. He made 3 or 4 absolutely vital saves when we were under the cosh. Coleman – Now that was the Coleman that excited me last season! He was a constant out ball for our defence because he was always in space and he exploited the freedom he was given and used the ball well. Caught out a couple of times defensively but also made 1 or 2 fantastic defensive plays. Jagielka – He’s back to his best that he showed 3 or 4 years ago. He was a man mountain back there for us; putting his body on the line making blocks, winning headers and distributing the ball well. What I really liked to see is that he was vocal on the pitch and he also got in the ref’s ear when it was warranted too. Distin – A towering defensive performance like Jags. And where he has looked dodgy with the ball a lot of this season, last night he looked pretty assured and he rarely, if ever, misplaced a pass. Oviedo – A fantastic attacking showing from him. He was our main threat from the flanks and he, like Coleman, exploited the space Arsenal gave him. His crossing was much improved compared to against United which is good if he’s to be a key part of our attacking play. However, I thought he was weak defensively and Arsenal realised it and targeted him going forward. Baines isn’t great defensively but he’s not even of Baines’ standard defensively and that must improve. Because he’s so good going forward we don’t sides targeting him and negating his attacking threat. Mirallas – The only player to disappoint me tbh. His decision making and final ball left a lot to be desired. And on a couple of occasions when we were looking to break he’d run into the opposing player, lose the ball and we’d have another 2 or 3 players who had ran forward to make the break away completely out of the game. McCarthy – Another terrier-like performance from him. He didn’t give the Arsenal midfielders a seconds peace all game. And his passing accuracy was a vital part of our game. Overall we had a passing success rate of 84% (according to Sky) and I can only imagine that he was a big part of that. I suspect he was quite happy to take the booking yesterday and miss the Fulham game so he’s risk free over the busy Christmas period. Barry – A master class from him I thought. He covered the whole pitch for us. When Coleman was caught up field he covered right back, when the same happened to Oviedo (which happened often) he covered left back, when we were under the cosh he acted as an added centre back, he was always available for the ball out of the defence. He was astounding and I was so impressed. My MOTM. Pienaar – He wasn’t quite as good as he has been in our previous few games; a little sloppy in possession but his ability to find pockets of space to receive the ball in was second only to Barkley, IMO. Second half I thought he was much better and I actually thought he was really coming into the game just as he was substituted. Barkley – I know he gave the ball away extremely stupidly a few times but other than that he was outstanding. He’s built like a tank but he played with such elegance, and glided about the pitch. Sometimes he’s guilty of choosing the wrong option when he’s got the ball but last night he chose the right option pretty much every time. And he caused havoc by drifting between the lines, picking up the ball, driving with it, laying it off. He was so fluid in his play. People go on about Wilshere and Ramsey but he pissed all over them with his dynamism. The boy’s got it all and I think it’s going to be difficult to pin him down to a set position. He’s just going to be a player. A fucking great one. Lukaku – Brilliant and frustrating in equal measures. Used his strength brilliantly at times to bully the Arsenal defenders but his first touch was woeful and I found myself crossing my fingers that when the ball was played to him the ball wouldn’t just bounce off him. Hafnia
Had a nose at their forum... a few fans are humble enough to respect the game we took to them, some are just idiots who believe they should have won because they had better chances... That brings us nicely onto us, from defence to midfield we are moving the ball beautifully, composure, movement, energy. When we get more patterns of play up front and the potential of maybe adding in another striker we have the potential to really challenge for top 4. Still buzzing, from the Liverpool game all I wanted to see was a belief and confidence from the players that the Moyes shackles have been thrown off. In the games against Liverpool, United and Arsenal I think we have seen this. The team is ready to grow as a group of players who can achieve something special. It will be interesting to see if we can maintain this intensity against lower teams who may park the bus a little more. That is why I feel we started the season with 3 draws, plenty of possession but just not enough tempo and cutting edge... lets see what confidence can do for us. Peter H
We have faced Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham . All supposed challengers for the title. Only one has beaten us. 9 points from these games is awesome. How many were away games? Mind boggeling results against top top opposition. jofanon
Saturday was excellent and I don't want to be a naysayer but.... For all possession excellence in the 1st half we didn't have a single shot on goal. There is plenty to do still and I'm trying not to get too carried away. Arsenal for a long time have been criticised for great passing football without end result. I don't think that is us but we need to be mindful of it imo. In all seriousness the shot on goal stat isn't a major improtance as such, it was the manner with which we went toe to toe with Arsenal, another team would have been completely ripped to shreds by us. The fact is we controlled it... we didn't just try and stop them playing, we gave them something to think about. It was a proper game of football and we were brilliant. Under Moyes I could see us losing that game quite heavily, Arsenal if you sit back and invite them will destroy you. I think RM has got a few managers worried - he doesn't care about reputation, he just wants to attack. I would love to watch an Everton training session under Bobby. I feel it is so important to finish in the top 4 now that we have made such great progress. It will give us more money, make us more attractive to top players that we might want to sign or keep and allow us to keep the momentum going.
