Paddock
I don't think there has ever been anything wrong with his attitude during his career. What worries me is the fact he may be just after one final payday and think he's too good for us and think he may not have to work his arse off like he has done in the past. If he comes in with that attitude (I'm not certain he will but not certain he wont) will he upset the harmony and have players resenting him for what he is. Steve_E
You can claim that playing for your national team is an honour, but if you're of that opinion you should stop be so naïve. The World Cup is in the money-making business, not in the honourable sports competitions business. FIFA make millions and millions of dollars over World Cup games for which they demand the hosting countries to pay for the stadiums themselves, change tax laws if need be so they can earn more money, and they ask these footballers to risk their livelihoods by playing in those games so it's only right that they're compensated fairly imo. Paddock
Don't care about his past. Also all of that has been on an international level and we all know how corrupt African Football Federations are. If he's getting it worked up him then he has every right to stand up for himself. Come on big lad, get down here, 2 year deal 40k a week, take Rom under your wing score goals and leave here a cult hero as your last swan song. Not a bad way to end your career . Two for me just because his experience will be invaluable to the squad. He's got 2 years in him I'm sure of that. If he does settle in he'd be a massive figure in the dressing room, he's been there and done it all and the younger players will look up to him. For all those reasons 2 years for me. Paddock
Martinez had a wry smile when Eto'o was mentioned this morning. What was his reply Ten, other than a wry smile? Samuel Eto'o would be a good addition to the squad but not for what he would want for his wage! We do need another striker though. He's a free agent though so his bigger wages would be offset against anyone else coming in for a fee.

He struggled badly at Stoke. Real let down apparently. Prior to that move i'd have taken him. Not now. Injury prone and not that good. Best case we get a Remy or someone on the cheap because their clubs must get rid.... Worst case we have Rom and Kone. My gut tells me we are done in the market now
Steve_E
What's that Guidetti like that City are trying to get rid of. Some raved off him on here few years ago. He had a nasty disease that kept him out for over a year and hasn't really come back from that. Feyenoord are interested in getting him back, but even they are hassling about paying £3m for him and he scored 20 goals in 23 games for them and was by far their best player. NYBlue
Eto'o joining seems more likely than not if as things go the RS sign Mario. I'd rather have Eto'o over Traore and I can't see us being able to manage another largish fee which would rule Remy out.
