I’d say keeping up with the times as fashion comes and goes. The evidence that we didn’t use one as they’re meant to be utilised has manifested itself into the mess we have today and shows why the role exists. If it doesn’t you have to have people that the relevant football knowledge which we clearly don’t.

Sorry but you are comparing apples with oranges. If their diet is wrong on non match days it very clearly will effect their fitness and therefore effect their performance.
Yes they get paid obscene amounts of money to be professional footballers and so yes they have a responsibility to look after themselves and conduct themselves in a manner that does not reflect badly on the club but that does not extend to supporters dictating what clothes they wear
If they were out clubbing every night I could understand your argument but they are never in the headlines for the wrong reasons
I don’t particularly rate Tom Davies but you certainly can’t say he shirks a tackle
Saying they wouldn’t risk an injury because they wouldn’t want to spoil their good looks is just pure bollocks and the irony of course is that they are both currently out injured
I never seen either wear female clothes either, your making out they are both drag queens just because they have a different dress sense than you which is utter nonsense
The world would be a very dull place if we all looked the same and liked the same things. There are enough things to be upset or worried about with regards to Everton and our players this season without moaning about a players dress sense

What if people judged you on your profession because you play golf? A game where you wander (or drive) around and occasionally swing a stick to hit a ball. It would be ludicrous right?
I get the frustration but players have a life outside of their job. If they can find happiness outside of their work which is fucking miserable at the moment, why shouldn't they?

Nobody could accuse Haf of not putting in the hard yards, the man's everywhere!

He said players that are good in pretty much all areas, not shit in pretty much all areas, Matt.

Ahh I forgot you were present when Digne had that bust up with Benitez.
Its really weird, because I am pretty sure he is defending under Gerrard and hasn't fallen out with him (yet). He also didnt fall out with the previous managers who also asked him to defend?
Going back to Gray, its obviously a lot easier as a quick, quality dribbler to look good on the counter attack. Doing the same against a more settled defence is a lot harder. Its not about doing what they are being asked to do or not, its a case of how easy it is to implement those instructions.
As it stands, I don't know what instructions the wide players are being asked to at the moment.

That’s the problem with him. I’d say his best position is playing off a front man, but that means playing 4-4-2 and sacrificing the midfield. He’s a bit undersized to play as the sole striker in the prem and lacks the class to be effective (mostly) out wide
As soon as we sell him I’m sure he’ll dominate given the right team set up and league though! That’s the frustrating thing.

Can't wait to see Dele tomorrow, going to have a cheeky bet on him to score first (this game is made for him to make his mark IMO). Van de Beek in the midfield just keeping things ticking over and after him not being in and around the squad, I'm really excited to see what El Ghazi can bring to the table.
    Really looking forward to it.

Rangers first choice right back Tavernier is their captain and arguably best player, so I’m not sure if that’s a massive strike against him.
He’s also come into a team battling relegation (while also trying to displace another captain!), so not exactly ideal for him to get pressure free game time.
I think with Patterson we’ll realistically need to wait a couple of years before we can start writing off/worrying about his transfer. He’s only 20, so he needs to be afforded the same patience as a youth player trying to break through. Everyone knows we’ve needed a young right back like him to ease game time from Coleman for years, but the young lad can’t help that situation!

I think they need to keep him. They have a good run of games against other teams that leak goals. It looks like they created chances today.
Unless there is a manager around that can build upon how Bielsa's teams play, I think anyone coming in and trying to change that style will cause as many problems as they solve.

I just accidentally clicked on my profile and it lists my favourite player as Baines.
Is it just me or does anyone else struggle to think about who their favourite player is out of this current bunch?
I'm not sure I would be too sad to see any of these lot be sold on.

I can’t believe he’s the only current male pro that’s come out. I really hope to see this improve over the next 5-10, along with football’s (and all sports) culture around this.

To be fair he was an absolute gun for that first half a season with us. I rated him as one of our best players during that time. He just decided to go on vacation after that point 😐

I must admit I am surprised by the positive comments.
I do think he looked stronger last night and he was a bit better in that second half than I have seen of him before, but he still looked like a Championship player at this stage of his career. I also thought the QPR right back was crap, probably their worst player so he had the best match-up.
He could become a mid-range Premier League player in time but I do think it will take him a while and he is playing in a position that we now have a lot of depth in.

I think that Iwobi would’ve been more likely to get a chance centrally if one of Richy or DCL had been available. I think Gray was put up top to give us some counter-attacking presence, with Rondon not offering much in the way of pace.
