Last point...never easy giving up 6 at home but I would so much rather do that (occasionally  ) than watch what we went through last year. I have never been more discouraged in 15 years as an Everton fan than i was just 6-8 months ago. We will never be top 4 if we don't try to play against them. Trying to go toe-to-toe with the big boys also helps us play better football, and take more points, off the lower teams. It's not happening yet and we shouldn't expect it to! This is a slow build. We lost 6-2 at home and we are still miles and miles ahead of where we were just in May. Patience is difficult, I screamed multiple obscenities yesterday I'm not proud about, but I see a team being constructed carefully and thoughtfully. That's where the bar is now thanks to Koeman and Sam.

    Notes from yesterday:
Richarlison is completely anonymous when needed most. That needs to be fixed more than any other weakness in the squad.
Yes Davies had a bad game. He was put in a no-win situation. Davies is a younger, far worse Gomes. As folks have said knife through butter with those two centrally. Say what you want about Gana, I happen to like him alot, but if we're committed to Gomes we need to be committed to Gana, or a player with a similar skill set.
Sigurdsson's work rate is absolutely spectacular. I cannot remember a player who works as hard as he does in that role. Makes me want to watch the game while on a treadmill.
Spurs clearly the more clinical team but I do wonder what happens if DCL makes it 2 and Pickford stays on his line so Zouma can very easily head it back to him. Never a foul on DCL and Pickford had an absolute nightmare in the first half. Unsettled the back line for the rest of the day.
Said this last week as well. I love Seamus more than any other player in a blue shirt currently. I would love to see him on the bench every week.
Do we go to Mina and Zouma from here? Keane won every single aerial challenge over Kane. Not sure if CB's can be blamed despite shipping 6.
Most discouraging was having to watch Schneiderlin make another appearance. Gutless loser should never be allowed to play for the club.

Think it will be an iconic stadium and in a way, we're lucky to have seen others make mistakes (West Ham) so we can ensure that the new design isn'tt a total atrocity.
I think a jump from 39.2k straight to 60 would've been a bit ambitious - remember, the club is taking a financial risk by doing this and we don't want to be burdened with an oversized stadium we can't fill up and need the city of Liverpool to bail us out. Also, the marginal revenue from those last 10K seats are less than the previous 10k before it and they are likely to be "worse" seats. I probably would've preferred slightly large but it's nice to know we can expand if need be. I'm now itching to see some renderings!

For the first time in my memory and time as an Everton fan I can say the ref is keeping us in the game. Not a goal and Mina should be off. We are incredibly lucky.

I'm a big gana fan but I'd be good with Davies in this spot. I was also begging for Tosun to come back in but he was largely anonymous over than his work rate.
Pickford, Coleman, Keane, Mina, Digne, Davies, Gomes, Walcott, Gylfi, Lookman, Richarlison
Richarlison was a winger last year for Watford so they will be prepared to handle him out there. They had to do it every day in training. Throw them off a bit and see how the CB's handle him rather than the full backs.

Did you not bother to read the article? It stated planning permission will be sought in second half of next year following public consultation. So that article is working on the assumption that it’ll be at the end of that period. This is typical sensationalist journalism to make a headline.  I’m not sure you can have a delay when Everton hasn’t given a definitive timeline.

Wasn't too far off. Siggy for Beni and Sandro for Bernard.
Can someone explain why Sandro is starting when he is being loaned out tmw? Surely someone else could benefit from the 90 mins on offer.

Keane is a useless excuse of a defender. Id rather we start Williams tbh but its a bit like would I rather be kicked in the left nut or the right nut.

malcom just went to barca for 41m.  that's the same price being put forth for richarlison.  doesn't seem so bad now does it?  richarlison is proven in the prem, malcom played for bordeaux.  honestly it makes me feel a lot better about the price.

Nice breakdown Mark. I'd expect Martina to be 2nd choice LB, not that we should feel great about it.
At this stage, and knowing we will play 4-3-3, I still think we absolutely need a left back, center mid and winger. Backup keeper and center back would be nice.
Get the F*** Out: Williams, Schneiderlin, Mirallas
Out if replacement found: Stek, Galloway, Bolasie

If we sold Schneiderlin for say £20m and replaced him with Ki for free then that’s good business as don’t see too much difference in quality and similar age. Don’t get me wrong, I want better than Ki moving forward but he’d be a very capable squad addition.
