Wiggytop reacted to Bailey in Salomón Rondón
Exactly, that is how much he gave a shit about who he was going to sign for.

Me too, I thought it was shocking that he was so unfit when he arrived, match fit I can accept, unfit no, he was gassed after 30 mins of lumbering around.

Wiggytop reacted to Bailey in Salomón Rondón
I watched him jog around plenty enough to know he didn't give "everything he had".
He also should have also kept himself in shape over the summer before he signed as well.

For Everton to be more successful, we must start to become more ruthless when it comes to squad. A player giving their all ought to be a minimum requirement - but it's pointless when the player is simply not good enough. Rondon has to be the worst recruited player in a decade - and that's saying something.

I keep seeing people saying (not here, thankfully) Rondon would've finished the chance Maupay didn't and it makes me laugh.
Taking out that Rondon has missed sitters, there's not a chance in hell that opportunity even arises if Rondon is playing. Not only would he not have been involved in the build up but he then wouldn't have been able to carry on and be there to have the shot because he'd have been gasping for breath somewhere nowhere the goal.

Still love the bloke, we really miss his energy, he’s not the most refined player, but he’s a pain to play against.

Wiggytop got a reaction from StevO in Frank Lampard
It looks and feels like Franks plan is starting to come together, far more solid at the back and mobility in midfield, we threaten up front also, still plenty of work to do of course.
Im back to being able to look forward to games rather than dreading them, we need to accept any hiccups along the way, I’m sure we will be ok this season.

A really good game from him again, improving all the time, what I’m really impressed is that he always seems to want to move the ball forward, such a refreshing change from sideways and backwards the team played last year.

Wiggytop got a reaction from Romey 1878 in Neal Maupay
I was impressed with him, he’s not featured much for Brighton, so I was expecting him to run out of steam, yes he did slow but kept going for the full 90. He’s far more mobile than Rondon ( state the bleeding obvious) and therefore gives defenders more to think about, he’s going to give us more options up front which was desperately needed.

Wiggytop reacted to Btay in Alex Iwobi
Agree but it’s more a compliment to the levels he has set himself in recent weeks

Wiggytop reacted to Aidan in Alex Iwobi
I remember the players being interviewed awhile ago and they all named Iwobi as the most skillful player. I hadn't seen it up until the end of last season.

Wiggytop reacted to badaids in Neal Maupay
Considering it was his debut, having not played much, in the derby against a good team, he played really well and was a great focal point for the attack.

Wiggytop reacted to Btay in Neal Maupay
He’s a lot faster than I thought he was. Always going to be a hard game against the liverpool backline but I thought he did well apart from the finish.
Promising signs.

Wiggytop reacted to StevO in Neal Maupay
More interesting to see him finish one of those today.
I such a shame.
Having a striker on the pitch, even if he wasn’t fantastic but more mobile than Rondon, made a big difference.
How many chances did we make today? Against a decent side.

If it wasn't for Pickford he'd have got my MOTM vote.

Proper team performance from every player, Pickford gets my vote as he kept us in the game when they put the pressure on.

Maupay - when you consider he was making his debut, in the derby, and lacking fitness, he did really well to act as that focal point. At some point the commentator said he had had 5 shots on goal in the match. Something he had never done in a Brighton match.

Play like that every match with a reborn DCL and I think we'll be just fine 😁
