Injury dependent but let’s hope we are at full strength-ish. Win, lose or draw I’m more interested in how we play. Gotta see if we can legitimately compete with a club of that caliber.

Very much so, lots of silly mistakes.
Great finish but Walcott should have stopped that shot. His attitude and application has been dreadful.

Hes now scored over half the goals he totalled last season in less than 1/8th of games!
Getting more and more impressed with his improvement in his finishing week by week.

Scoring for fun. Hats off to the lad but more over he must be so pleased with the service he’s getting

flicked through this, so we're in agreement Dom should be benched next week for Tosun and Sandro should be brought in as first option to come on?  😅
If we create enough chances that he can afford the odd miss while still scoring every week then we're doing a good job.  He'll only keep improving his finishing the more he bangs them in.
You only have to look at how many chances Salah and Mane have and miss to know that a good side doesn't need to score every chance to be successful.
I'd be more concerned about Richarlison's wasted chances than DCL but I'm sure he'll start putting them away again soon.

Think I fell in love watching him in the first half today!  (I didn't get to watch all of the second)
The vision and execution in his passing is second to none and the difference it makes to the team is  huge.  He doesn't need to run around or take people on as the his team mates know that when he gets the ball they can start making runs and he will pick them out.  Richarlison as someone that loves to make those kind of runs must love playing with him.  Even the likes of Seamus and Digne see the benefit as they can confidently make those runs up the flanks without feeling it'll be a wasted journey.
When the ball gets played to him it's like the game slows down as he plays at his own pace but around him everything is happening as opposition players try to deal with what is to come.
The way he controls things without dashing around is reminiscent of Pirlo who stroked the ball around like an artist with his brush.

    Great word and well used!
Seamus is going nowhere under Carlo, apart from up the steps to lift a trophy.
Fully expect him to see his playing days out with us.

Mark, my man, confidence becomes arrogance very quickly. If we take this attitude as a club we will lose more than we win. Whilst they may not be the powerhouse the once were - they still pose a threat with some world class players.

Brighton - decent team, by no means is this a turn up and get 3 points. We will need to win the midfield here and earn the right. I think id actually like to see Gomes against West Ham and Bernard come into the more advanced central position in midfield. He has created loads in the cup games and we could use his creativity here. Good to have some options however.

Whilst the virtues of prime Troy Deeney were discussed on here akin to what DCL does for us... It's James Rodriguez Keys is saying we should have got instead.    James is probably the most intelligent player I've seen play for us, his touch and technical ability and vision is ridiculous.
I didn't think he would be this good, I knew he would be good but not this good so quickly.

That free kick in their third, threw him to the ground, accepted the free kick, and ran back into position. That’s how to win games.

I thought he was very disciplined against Palace. Tactically he was spot on and when he needed to bring someone down he did.
I enjoy watching players like him because he makes the game look simple.

Not at all true. Haf has always wanted a worker rather than a striker upfront, ideally both but with work rate more important in order to create more for the team. The argument against that logic then was that we had no one else to create chances/chip in with goals regularly, which is many (especially myself) accepted just the goals.

The call for starting Tosun over DCL was that he was a better finisher, more experienced and a hard worker. He just turned out to be too slow; he was our Deeney.

Rashford was an emerging talent, exciting. Still is in my eyes. So to spend a lot of the Lukaku money on him was logical. It still took DCL a season later to show his real talent.

nutmegwolf203 reacted to Aidan in Seamus Coleman
"Seamus is a great example of a captain. I have a lot of captains in my career but Seamus has a lot of spirit and attitude and how he is able to explain his love for the shirt is really top."
Asked where Coleman ranked alongside Ancelotti's captains at his previous clubs, he said: "He is a great captain, I cannot make a list but he is a great captain, honestly. Maldini, John Terry, Sergio Ramos, that kind of captain. "

Richy has been on fire this season he must be a pain in the arse to play against. Gets about throwing tackles in, drives us up the pitch, wins fouls & areal duels, scores goals, runs his socks off every single game never falling to give 100%. He's so important for us and despite the creativity of James and Doms goals he's the one I'd least like to lose through injury in the squad. Ability-wise James is the best I've personally seen in a blue shirt, but in terms of attitude and application Richy is the best ive seen since Tim Cahill. He's going straight to the top this lad, hopefully with us.

Everton skipper Seamus Coleman: "Very satisfying, Crystal Palace started the season strongly so it was a big game for both teams. We did not play that well but we knew we were up against a tough team and delighted to go back up the road with all three points.
"James Rodriguez is very exciting, from day one we could see the quality he has in training and he has brought that into games. A great lad but Abdoulaye Doucoure and Allan have been so important for us, the three new signings have been fantastic.
"Allan plays that role fantastic, Idrissa Gueye played it but now it gives us licence to get forward.
    Seems Seamus remembers.

Still some kind of stigma attached to him though. 5 goals in 3 matches and still people are trying to play his goals down.....
Goalkeeper should have saved it, that’s an easy chance, he couldn’t miss!
Not sure what it is some fans are trying to prove, but he seems unfashionable for some?
Like Haf said, look at him for what he is. He is a team player who can score, but also create chances for others by occupying defenders.
His best moment today wasn’t his goal, it was challenging for unwinnable balls.

Seeing less and less of him involved in our play, but more and more clinical in the penalty area. I think 25 in all competitions has got to be possible for him this season. The lad is dangerous!
