MikeO Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 Good news, best of luck to him the lucky bastard. Still don't know why they overlooked me in 1977 . Apart from me being totally devoid of any talent I guess. MC11, nutmegwolf203 and Matt 3 Quote
Ten Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 Really excited by Ledson. Matt, MC11 and Romey 1878 3 Quote
markjazzbassist Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 Awesome! Hope he learns how to pass to the keeper after that Leicester game. Matt 1 Quote

Romey 1878 Posted November 17, 2014 Author Report Posted November 17, 2014 I've got high hopes for this lad. Quote
Paddock Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 Me too although I'm not entirely sure he meant that tbh. Bailey and Matt 2 Quote
Shukes Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 Ye looked like he tried to whip a ball in and it just swerved right in. Quote

Newty82 Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 What happened to that other lad with bags of potential etc? Was it George Green or something??? Quote
Paddock Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 What happened to that other lad with bags of potential etc? Was it George Green or something??? That was Ross Barkley, we sold him for a packet of cheese and onion an out of date large bottle of full fat coke and a toffee crisp. Bill was dead against it but Roberto listened to some divi called Paddock on an internet board but we are defo getting Moutiniho and Riquelme (sp) in to add depth in January. Honest, I saw them both at a cash point in West Derby the other day and they had Everton trackies on. Quote

Not sure you're allowed to mention Moutinho on this board...Bit of a sore point I think!!! Quote
Romey 1878 Posted November 18, 2014 Author Report Posted November 18, 2014 What happened to that other lad with bags of potential etc? Was it George Green or something??? Nothing's happened with him, he's still here progressing. Quote
MC11 Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Martinez said he (Green) was 2 seasons away from the first team last year. Hopefully see him in and around the squad next year. Quote
EFC-Paul Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Belter!! Looked like it was going well over right until the last second Got High hopes for both Ledson and Green both have bags of potential along with a few other of the academy lads Quote

Hafnia Posted December 13, 2014 Report Posted December 13, 2014 I think he looks a star in the making. Once first half was out the way he settled. 17, very promising. Quote
Shukes Posted December 13, 2014 Report Posted December 13, 2014 I thought he Haf a very good second half and rarely made mistake. He was always looking for the ball and wad a good outlet from defense. Quote

msloan78 Posted December 14, 2014 Report Posted December 14, 2014 I thought he showed a fair bit of confidence and some great technique. There were a few cracking cross field balls which he weighted well and spotted the runs quickly too. I think he would go much better with a few more experienced heads around him to be fair. Quote
MC11 Posted December 14, 2014 Report Posted December 14, 2014 It's not that I thought he had a bad game or anything, I just didn't notice him tbh. I saw nothing special. Quote
Shukes Posted December 14, 2014 Report Posted December 14, 2014 For a 17 year old he didn't look out of place. That's enough to say to me that the lad has something. The other lads had good moments but also looked a little out of their depth...other than Garbutt. Ledson looked comfortable. Quote
Newty82 Posted December 14, 2014 Report Posted December 14, 2014 I saw nothing special. You like passing stats to back up your man Gibson? This lad made 56 passes in the game with a 91% success rate. At 17. On his senior debut. Just saying. Quote

Newty82 Posted December 14, 2014 Report Posted December 14, 2014 Saw nothing special Ok. Well Gibson has played 3 Europa games, 118 passes in all games (do the math) and pass success rate of 83%. Similar pass lengths. If you use pass stats to back up one, surely it's good to be consistent and use the same stats for another player? Plus he's only 17. Making his senior debut. Did I say that? The boy clearly did fine. Good luck to him...as many of these boys that can make it, the better for the club. Quote
Romey 1878 Posted December 14, 2014 Author Report Posted December 14, 2014 as many of these boys that can make it, the better for the club. I was thinking about this just yesterday. Imagine selling big (whether reluctantly or through choice) and not having to spend a penny to replace them because we had one of our own good enough to replace them? That would be invaluable to a club like ours. Quote
Shukes Posted December 14, 2014 Report Posted December 14, 2014 He's a mini McCarthy with passing range. Well he has the possibility to become. Quote
