Hafnia
What a pass from Baines, again shitty control of Big Rom. He's only 21, 6ft 4 players learn to control a ball at 25.
MC11
Lukaku has been the best player.... Your favourite McCarthy has been shite Haf. What exactly does he offer?
Steve_E
Think Baines, Stones and Lukaku have been playing well enough. At least we've held them to shots from distance and crosses into the box and the likes.
badaids
really feel that we can nick one if we can just string a couple of passes together and not give a break away. i think we'll need to because i just can't see us holding out. i was so nervous at times in that half that i was shaking. Sibdane
Not a bad first half. We're looking composed on defense.

googoo56
Been a poor game so far. We've been below par for the most part (not unexpected), thank fuck Livershite has been wank too. Don't know what the thinking is with Lukaku. Is it a good idea to essentially have him do next to nothing and hope that he'll make something of the few scraps he'll have? Stones has been massive though, that's good to see.
chicagoblue
They're well on top and Barry might have been off after 10 minutes. Calmed down somewhat after that and how wastefull is Balotelli? Lost our pace when Kev went off, counterattack feels dead now. Need to keep them from bulding a head of stem by keeping possession better. Still in this, but need to sharpen up.
Romey 1878
We need to pull some urgency and tempo out of our arses in the second half. We're playing at walking pace and don't really look like getting a goal. At least we haven't conceded.
Newty82
Quite a cagey performance from us today. We look like we are making a great effort to keep it tight at the back. We haven't don't much wrong. Definitely not as gungho as usual. Howard looks solid. Hibbert is using his experience well. Stones is playing well. Besic looks like a very promising player. Baines being as marauding as ever. Naismith is finding space and setting up attacks. Lukaku has shown several nice touches and turns but his final ball is weak. For the 2nd half...McGeady needs to step up. I'd like to see Lukaku come more central or us find him more. Keep it pretty much the same but turn the intensity up a notch. MC11
This game inpaticular is crying out for a midfield player who can carry the ball. We ain't got one. Barkley would be having a field day counter attacking here! markjazzbassist
Shukes
ye I actually think Lukaku has been pretty good today. Couple of bad passes and a few bad touches but also a few decent runs and managed a couple of efforts on goal too. Baines has been a class above every single player on the pitch. GoodisonRoad
He's only 21, 6ft 4 players learn to control a ball at 25. Oh get fucked Haf. He's been one of our best players and held it up really well which is what you always ask of him but you still manage to find something to critisize him on. It's pathetic. Naismiths passing has been poor. Can't seem to link up play at all. Besic has settled into the game well. Baines looking good. Hibbert has done alright but he has been done once or twice which let's face it was always going to happen. Barry is treading a fine line. Hoping we can scrape a win here but won't hold my breath! Guest millwallforever
Half time observations: * Had Suarez played, we would be 0-3 down. * Barry has been atrocious and he is lucky to still be on the pitch. * We have had a few opportunities on the break. Had it been Barkley and not Naismith, we may well have scored a couple. * Besic is doing very well. This guy is gonna be a star. * Hibbert has done reasonably well. * Lukaku needs to pull himself together. markjazzbassist
would like to see eto'o for naisy, steven keeps passing off the ball and passing backwards, really miss ross and being able to take a pass and run forward with it. gethinO
Hate derbies. Not good for the blood pressure. Done okay I thought. Defensively sound, Stones playing well. Think McCarthy has been good, broken up play well. Barry treading a very fine line. Don't really look like scoring though. Need a bit more imagination in the final third. Newty82
...oh, and bit worried about Barry! To get a yellow so early was daft. Not sure he should stay on.
badaids
i'd like to see etoo play centrally if we can continue to break centrally. i like naismith, but he's not the right player you want on the ball as we counter into the final third. etoo would find a way to get a chance in on goal. JoeQuince
Happy it's still 0-0. Gutted for Mirallas. I think we can make something happen in the second half though. I'd like to see Eto'o on for Barry (one of the DMs has to be sacrificed) and put out left, with McGeady on the left, Lukaku in the middle and Naisy in behind. Barkley would be having a field day counter attacking here! I thinks that's what Naismith has done a few times. He just hadn't quite got the power and pace to do it more effectively. Handy player though.

Romey 1878
We've looked so hesitant in attack. Getting mauled last season has obviously affected us heavily. But only half committing to an attack is just as bad as over committing for me.

Peter H
I think that Jags and Stones Are having a good game. Thankfully the good Howard turned up today. Shame that Mirallas went off. Looked bad. Need a better ball up to Lukaku on the break. Naismith has not delivered that ball so far. We look dangerous when Baines breaks up the play and starts the offense. We might snag this. Balotelli looks awful. (lol)
