Aidan
I'm really excited about this signing. I dont understand why Monaco were looking to loan him out as soon as he arrived, if anyone could fill me in? This guy is an absolute tank. I suppose we wont be having him with a view to buy then?... c1982
If he signs already injured and ends up missing more time than expected, that would be pretty crap. Better be a VERY minor knock he's carrying or else I just wouldn't bother and look at him again in the Summer There's potential for an 18 month loan. markjazzbassist

Romey 1878
They're going to bring him out on the field prior to the match, Just like McGaedy. Then it's going to become a weekly tradition, with a new player of bigger stature coming out as a new signee prior to every game until the final match of the season, when Messi sprints to midfield in an Everton shirt. We're away so I doubt it .
thoward18
We're away so I doubt it . Newcastle need all the publicity they can get. If that means Messi walking onto their pitch in an Everton shirt then they'll take it.

JoeQuince
Phil McNulty's just tweeted about it. That's usually a sign of a done deal. Let's hope the medical goes well.

Steve_E
He looks incredibly fast and agile for someone his length. Also, he's already scored a cracker against Liverpool:
verreauxi
All in all, looks like a good signing...but admittedly, I only base this on a few youtube clips. I hadn't heard of the guy until I saw an article in The Guardian. 6'8"...Wow, that'll shake things up in the box.

bluenosetoffee
Demba Ba failed his medical at Stoke because of a knee injury. Went to West Ham and did wonders. If I was Everton I would take a gamble. If it doesn't work out then fair enough. If he came to Everton he wouldn't be starting anyway. Lukaku would do the first couple of games, give him a rest and give the big man a chance to grab a goal...
SimonButtle
If it's only a loan, then we should gamble imo.
Hoof_It_Nev
Pretty sure they would just be looking for unknown injuries anyway.
Cornish Steve
And presumably we wouldn't pay for those weeks when he's injured.
Romey 1878
And presumably we wouldn't pay for those weeks when he's injured. Of course we would. We'd be taking him on loan in full knowledge of him being injured so it'd be tough shit. chicagoblue

Steve_E
Pretty sure they would just be looking for unknown injuries anyway. Not necessarily unknown injuries, but I think regular medicals are more about just checking the player's physiology to make sure there aren't any long-term risks, like muscle imbalances between the two legs or whatever. Because it's just a 6 month loan though so I'm sure that the hamstring issue he currently has is more important. I've always been led to believe it's 1 week out for a tear of 1 centimeter, 2 weeks out for 2 centimeters, etc. Depending on the size of the tear, it might not be worth it to loan him. MikeO
Work permit hearing taking place tomorrow with us hoping to complete the deal on Wednesday. Will probably be refused on the grounds that West Ham asked first and fat Sam's going to hold his breath if it's granted.

He's there because the loan terms are 100k and a kitkat. Looks like we're overpaying for the kitkat.
