Either would do, I personally prefer jointing to skimming as jointing is more flexible and less prone to cracking due to movement, but what ever method is used insist that the visible cracks are taped over before covering, if possible insist on paper tape instead of the easier to use self adhesive scrim tape which is more susceptible to cracking due to slight movement. No problem mate, if he’s a plasterer he’s going to go down the skimming route, make sure he completely seals the area with a PVA solution or you’re plaster will be on the floor in a months time. Romey 1878
He made a massive difference when he came on. I think we’d have found it a lot harder to come back if he hadn’t come on. Said this loads of times. He does the simple things that most can’t. Links defence and attack up with simple balls. Quick five yard passes that so many players can’t complete. Someone mentioned Phillips in another thread. We need to go for someone like that to replace him. No one else in the squad is capable of filling that hole. Shukes
Stick up for him a lot as you all know. But what a strange game he had. For the most part he had a good game. Stopped them playing and controlled the middle. Could have easily had two assists as well. But gave the ball away in the same position twice very cheaply, one of which nearly ended in us conceding. And I know he is known for his non goal prowess…. But yesterday he took that to a new level. A very Naive game from him.
Popular Post StevO
I like him being further forward, as it really helps us press higher up the pitch. The trade off is when he actually gets the ball he just might have a shot, and no one wants that!! Popular Post plaidharper
To be fair, his stats this year have been incredible. Won more possession than Rodri. No one tends to notice these small yet very important things. His ball recoveries is way way up there too. Folks only remember when he botches a 5 yard pass that leads to a dangerous situation. Which might happen once or twice a game but really those are some of the only misplaced passes he makes all game because he pass accuracy is actually super high. If he didn't make a single poor pass ever (which all players do) he would not be playing for Everton. Get NSNO but the reality is we are not at the top at the moment. Think we all need to realize we are a better team with him in it. There will be a time where his legs are totally gone but until then he will probably always play a part. Romey 1878
I thought he was fine sweeping up and harrying, but as soon as he got near the final third it's like he's landed on Mars or something. The ball dropped to him on the edge of the area in the first half and I could see what was going to happen. The oaf was going to shoot. All I could do was watch and shout "not you!" as he proceeded to have a pop and the ball went nowhere near the goal.

Let him do what he does on the pitch, but instruct him to pass instead of shoot ffs. But at least people can see what happens when he’s not there now. Midfield were dire once he went off. If we’re going to play Garner in the middle, make it the right side of a two. He is shit when playing as a central figure.

If he was a limited player, like Gana, then he wouldn't be getting judged harshly. But the fact is he's got so much more to give and just doesn't apply himself well enough. Too often he coasts round without a care in the world and it's why he often gives up possession. Shukes
Bailey
I have issues with some areas of his game but if you take him out of that midfield you lose that "buzz" he brings. Even when he was playing poorly against Brentford, I felt that energy was still needed. I thought Onana & Garner could fill that void yesterday but they couldn't. Onana should be able to fill that void but he doesn't apply himself. When Gana came out, it stopped Garner and Onana getting into advanced positions, which created our goal in the first half. As a result it made Doucoure and McNeil much easier to mark and we had nothing through the middle at all. Shukes

But when he gets the chance he seems to shrink back into himself. He hasn’t got that instinct to just link up yet. Hoping that will come. Garner needs width. Not saying as a winger, but not smack bang in the middle. We’ve tried it a few times and it’s ended disastrously most times. He hasn’t got that skill set. To the side of a middle three maybe. But so far his best games have come when he plays wide. Matt
