AlbanyNYToffee reacted to Shukes in Kevin Thelwell (Director of Football)
Pretty sure the board will be looking at more than just his record that’s available publicly. Like it or not…. These guys are professional at their jobs….. even though we like to pretend we know better 🙂

AlbanyNYToffee reacted to Zoo 2.0 in FA Cup draw
Middlesbrough to win 5-0 against Chelsea who are in disarray following the departure of Roman Abramovich. Southampton to beat Manchester City who are too focussed on the league and Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield to put together a combined XI to knock out Liverpool. Everton to walk their way past Crystal Palace before being given a bye in the semi and final as the teams left in it are terrified of playing against a Frank Lampard side who are firing on all cylinders.
A man can dream right?

AlbanyNYToffee reacted to Bailey in Ashley Cole
It says you joined in 2004... you must surely know this place better than that by now!
Rule #1 of Toffeetalk is don't expect the name of the thread to bear any resemblance to the content of the current conversation.
In case anyone is wondering, Rule #2 is don't believe anything @Palfy says.

AlbanyNYToffee reacted to Sibdane in Manchester City (Home) 26th February
I get infuriated watching the replay. It’s so blatantly obvious that it’s a penalty. I never like to shout corruption, but I have no idea what else could’ve caused the refs/VAR to get this one so wrong.

AlbanyNYToffee got a reaction from Hafnia in Dele
Turns out he didn’t get Jose’d, he just lost his way entirely. He’s abysmal. How on earth do we make sure he never plays that 20th game?

When the league says f*** you, you take it on the chin and pony up the cancellation fees after days of contemplation. Going to give it a go in April, fingers and toes crossed.

AlbanyNYToffee reacted to MikeO in 3 tickets to Wolves
I'll take the two together if that's OK, best to take it to personal message for details; really feel for you missing out though.

Checking with the club on a refund but wanted to offer them up here in the meantime. Upper Gwladys Row R 167-168 together and also Upper Gwladys Row A 161. 45 pounds for each and i'll mail them for free. You don't need to take all 3 I can offer them up individually as well.

AlbanyNYToffee reacted to Cornish Steve in Ifs, buts and Maybes
A couple of weeks ago, I laid out what I thought was our best chance of getting to 40 points and therefore, if history is any guide, to safety. At the time, we needed to secure 21 points from the remaining 17 games, and I laid out what I thought to be the most likely course. Maybe I can track our progress over time.
Current status: 39 points
Brentford (H): 3 points
Burnley (A): 3 points
Leeds (H): 3 points (actual: 3 points)
Newcastle (H): 3 points
Palace (H): 3 points
Watford (A): 3 points
Leicester (H): 1 point
Southampton (A): 1 point (actual: 0 points)
Wolves (H): 1 point
Arsenal (A): 0 points
Chelsea (H): 0 points
Leicester (A): 0 points
Liverpool (A): 0 points
Man City (H): 0 points
Man United (H): 0 points
Spurs (A): 0 points
West Ham (A): 0 points

5am wake up here in the States morning after the Super Bowl but got the Upper Gwladys so absolutely worth it. Words will never be able to explain my excitement at seeing this beloved club in the flesh. 24 more days.

AlbanyNYToffee reacted to Bailey in Southampton (away) February 19
Southampton are a decent unit. I dont think they have a lot of genuine quality but Broja is a real handful and will certainly test our back line and JWP is industrious and should be feared anywhere around the box.
I think the rest of the team are fairly solid without and they play to the managers instructions. They work hard and can create chances.
I think this will be a really tough game and will be a lot more like the Newcastle game than either of the other two. Hopefully we will be more up to the task this time around.

AlbanyNYToffee reacted to Sibdane in Frank Lampard
I’m so afraid to get excited. Have we finally found the one?
God I hope so.

AlbanyNYToffee reacted to Cornish Steve in Abdoulaye Doucouré
I doubt it. Carlo is a world-class manager, and I don't blame him for moving to Real Madrid (just the way he did it). Rafael Benitez is no longer a world-class manager (and I question whether he ever was). I'll be interested to hear what the players really thought of him - which is bound to come out over time.

Fingers crossed. Personally I’m not looking so much as where we finish this year but more to what our points per game under Lampard would bring us for the next season.
